It may not be Albert best collection, but its for sure one of the best this season.
What's really amazing, and also the most surprising for a lot of people, is the fact that Albert completely changed his directions. We were used to see an over sexy , strong almost dominatrix woman at Lanvin. With tons of heavy and exhuberant accessories and flashy colors. Yet this time, everything was toned down. There weren't explosions of bright oranges and pinks, no more crazy bracelets and thousands of necklaces around their neck or killer heels.
Therefore at first sight this woman seems a bit bland and less impressive than the S/S10 one. Because its a more loose and comfy aesthetic. This woman doesn't seem to want to make a statement, she prefers pieces in which she'll be able to live and work. Still, if you look closely, this collection is quite major. Indeed there's an undeniable discret refinement here.
All the long skirts at the begining worn with super tight tops, emphasize the ease and movement of the silhouette. Its the same for the bi-material dresses. He also worked a lot on volumes and proportions, throught the woman suits, the caged tops or the three trench tops. And then for the evening he gives a embrodery mania on short coktail dresses or on tops with mini skirt. But the best here, as usual for Lanvin, its the little details that makes a huge difference. First those jeweled collar that add a little touch of glamour and magic to the looks. ( The jeweled bow is the best accessory of the season, for me ). Of course the shoes, that were stellar as well. The bracelets which strangely gave me a glove-impression as they were worn in mid arm. The exquisit tailoring. And finally the plissé which gives me a fantastic origami impression.
So for me, once again Albert and his team delivered.
And as for the black models, I found it extremly beautiful. Their jumpsuit weren't bad at all, but really gorgeous. And the fact that they closed the show as a group was clearly a message because instead of being a separating move, i think it was a way to introduce them as the " bouquet finale" of the show. To put them, for once, in the spotlight.
they appeared as the 'bouquet final" of the show.
