Lanvin S/S 2015 Paris

Love the first half, very clean and sexy, second half was the opposite for me. I'm glad he used less statement accessoiries.

He was inspired by the archives for this 125th anniversary collection, which I find a real departure. I miss Alber's draping, but I'm sure it's not gone forever. The textile bags are truly gorgeous, and the movement of the dresses is really beautiful.

not that good, he has been very boring lately

where is the colour?

There were looks that should've been edited out, but overall I love the smoky sensuality in this collection.

Beautiful collection! I am never really into Lanvin but lately, Alber has been doing some wonderful things. I like how toned down this show is despite the fact I think he does embellished stuff very well. This just screams effortlessness and I think that's what gives it some spark.

i like the swanky swingy longer dresses the best but some of the shorter more detailed dresses are lovely too. good collection imo.

Alber had a Premier called Eva that did all the poetic drapings in the beginning of his years of Lanvin, I could always spot a Eva dress in the show, she was not a pattend maker but a true artist, and she and Alber worked together in such a beautiful way, as if Eva could read his mind, I was there in the first years and the beauty of seeing them working together was a very big privilege, I still hope that Eva will get back ore Alber will find a new soul mate that can translate his dreams and big talent.

^ It really is beautiful to witness people doing what they do so well  Would love to see some examples.

That's interesting to know, thanks for the titbit.:flower:

Do you mind posting an Eva dress to illustrate?

The show is so incredibly strong that I cannot stop watching the video - His bow brings tears to my eyes at how charming and charismatic Alber reacts to his audience in many ways he reminds me of John Galliano in his showmanship in how he gave his audience a show, John gave them a show, Alber gives them charm and humour.

Just watched the video, and wanted to add that I was struck by how beautifully and confidently some of the older models walked. Anytime I saw a model walking awkwardly or diffidently, it was always a young model. I would think more designers would want to do this ... I thought the older models presented the clothes so well.

I just read an interview with Miuccia Prada saying that she doesn't want to put older models on her runway because it would be putting "politics" on the runway, and there aren't enough examples of aging well. I'm going to have to call BS on both of those statements ...
