No, not really.
I read often comments that Lara Stone is on her way to be the new Doutzen Kroes ONLY. Lara is a total different model, she is HF and not like Doutzen commercial.

Doutzen is the one everybody talks about and known as Holland best model.In my opinion Lara is a better model.

Also she is not much in Dutch magazines. No eds. in Glamour of Elle.

Lot of people don't even know Lara Stone. I know people who study photography and didn't even know about Lara Stone!!!!! Now they do because of me.

And most of the Dutch people don't understand Lara's beauty. They think she is ugly, they just don't know nothing about fashion! They see Doutzen is gorgeous (ofcourse she is) and think bah Lara is ugly how can she be a model.

Yep. It pisses me off when they say that Lara is fast on her way becoming like Doutzen. It would be better the other way around. And not even that. Both of them hit two complete different markets.

That's a bit surprising. For example, in my country if any of our model gets a little success, every magazine & people talk about her, she is invited in every major talk-show and so on.
And the gorgeous girl who has at least one editorial in every month in world's major fashion magazines, gracing the most important covers and for ex : has the own VP issue dedicated to her, isn't well-known in her country.
If she was from my country, she would be one of the most popular persons among our celebrities.

Could that have anything to do with the fact that she's only half Dutch? I know she was born and raised there but sometimes people have that mentality that if you're half something else, then you're not the real deal. I know it sounds stupid but you'd be surprised how many people think like that.

Difference is.. Mind you, Dutch people aren't known for their interest in fashion or particular great taste. But Doutzen is commercial, well-known. She wasn't known around here at all when she wasn't with VS. I bet that if Lara joined the VS angels, she would easily rise to the same amount of fame here.

Ofcourse Doutzen is also HF at least was, these days she is in Holland more known as the L'oreal en VS girl. And Empress Merel is total right about the fact that Doutzen got populair while with VS.

I think Dutch people find Lara ugly and can't imagine that ugly people can model. How stupid ofcourse, allongside the fact that Lara is gorgeous.
