Laurence Dacade is the shoe designer for Chanel since 3 yers.
She designed before for Givenshy for 5 years and she is launching now her own line.

i must say that the shoot is horrendous
but i do like laurence dacade even though this and last seasons shoes (as in SS08 and FW08) didnt make me want to buy it.
i did like her collection before that though

Hmm because when you look at refined women shoes you imagine her wearing them and nothing else? The sexual tension is simply palpable. On the other hand this is widely acknowledged and that angle has been exploited in a much greater depth (think Guy Bourdin for Charles Jourdan) so there's no point in doing it in the naive, simplified and devoid or narrative form we get in this shoot. That and the lightning is so badly done in this pictorial it looks like an amateur with a point and shoot using a flashlight; if you're going to do shadows they have to look intentional and still display the product like it was an old master's painting, bathed in glossy light and sharp shadows. Doing such a shoot while trying to maintain the illusion that your viewers have just discovered the sexualisation of women shoes is pathetic, you have to show that:

1) you know

2) you know that they know and add layers of meaning accordingly.

Just doing the first one is pointless and even insulting.
