Lottie Moss

When Kate Moss was at the same age-16, she'd already been modeling for quite a bit, had done lots of unpaid gigs, lots of small jobs(they each have a very different air about them, don't they? Kate looked more street wise in photos taken of her when she was 16, a bit more tough, although I'd never thought of Kate's old photos this way until now comparing them to Lottie's photos, Kate Moss at 16 was a very different kind of model already, showing nipples and smoking in photos. Lottie looks more...protected, middle class.....your regular average pretty high school girl, I don't mean it in a negative way, and Kate Moss at 16 looked like the kind of high school girls that cut school.) Kate's first job that got her big notice in the industry was The Face-"Summer of Love"? Lottie's first big job is Calvin Klein, and she has only modeled a handful of gigs-it's too early to tell how far Lottie will go-but she will be globally known once this Calvin Klein campaign is released to the world-even though she is so green still in the modeling industry.

If they are trying to lauch her as a model, then I don't get why they claim that she is 5-5 og 5-6. Why not lie and say that she is 5-7 or 5-8 like they do with Kate?:innocent::rolleyes: I think it proves that they are not even trying, to be honest.

I am also thinking she might only be 5-4 or 5-3 in real life, if her agency claim 5-5...

Like someone pointed out, she is pretty, probably prettier than Kate, but I think miracles need to happen for her to become a model.

I think Storm is trying to launch her as Kate Moss' sister, at this point she already brings instant attention to any brand that hires her because of her connection to Kate Moss. If she doesn't improve as a model, she will have another 2 spectacular seasons or so as a teen model, and people and brands would get tired of her, if she gets better and better as a model, and if she likes to keep working as a model she can take far, height isn't an obstacle since Kate Moss was tiny at the time compared to the supermodels of the late 1980s.

Maybe her face will get more interesting as she grows but she looks extremely average in these Calvin Klein shots. Compared to Kate's sharp cheekbones and gorgeous lips, this girl looks quite plain.

Plain is good, models should be plain like blank canvas. Man people said the same things about Kate Moss at the beginning-she wasn't pretty like Christy or Cindy, but she knew how to work it and she worked very hard, her plainness was part of hty mass appeal many average looking girls in average height could identify w/her. Lottie has that in CK photos she looks like the girl next door, the girl you see in a mall. Many girls would find that appealing.

Lottie could get picked to model for Topshop ad campaign. That would be a massively successful campaign.

Lottie if she works really hard and learns how to work w/what she's got she could be a very suuccessful print model, campaign type of model, she can never work as a runway model-not because she is short,(kate is short), but Lottie's shoulders and body frame isn't broad enough to carry clothes well. Kate Moss has fabulous shoulders and great knee bones, great looking arms.

^^There's a difference between being plain and being a blank canvas. The comparison to Kate is inevitable, considering the way they're marketing her, and imo Kate has something that pulls you in which goes beyond her already striking face. I think it's a bit naive to assume that Lottie ,or any model for that matter, will reach Kate's status especially this early in her career. At the moment, she just doesn't look interesting enough to me(aside from her Dazed spread which I love). That said, I am curious to see how her career develops and I wish her the best of luck.

She looks like she was forced to do these "Calvin Klien" ads or is just bored. Same face in every picture and you can tell she is very short. Short models in editorials usually do well in disguising their height. Also I find her face boring, at least Georgia Jagger has more to rely on than just her last name...

I feel like the media is pushing her to be the next big thing, but I don't see it happening.

I think she just doesn't have much modeling experience, I don't think she knows how to work with the camera and the light and how to work with her bone structure(most experienced models know how to make their cheek bones look more pronounced and their lips fuller, their eyes bigger and chin pointier by turning a certain way, Kate Moss does this all the time in public events, she turns her head in a certain way and opens her mouth just so slightly becasue she knows so well by now how to make the most of her features for the cameras). That's the downside of having fantastic opportunities when you haven't earned it, just famous for being the sister of a supermodel, everyone judges and have opinion of you when you have nothing to show for. Need to work much harder on your modeling skill, Lottie Moss.

True, she's very vanilla. There really isn't much that draws you in. But in her Dazed shoot, I can see little bit of potential.

Perhaps, she can help paved the way for ladies who are shorter but want to be models.

Then somehow, that line between models being idols and regular women worshipping them will change. No matter how thin you are, if you're short, you'll never be a proper high fashion model, down the runway. It shouldn't be like that.

However, I do agree and truly believe that the only reason she's getting any attention as a model is because she is Kate Moss' sister.

There was a time that accusations of nepotism were a big insult, now people positively revel in it.
This is girl is cute, but she's no model. And like Kawai rightly said, she does not even have the body frame to carry clothes, bare minimum you can expect from a model, whoever is shamelessly pushing her forward is doing this girl a disservice.

I think Storm Agency knew what they were doing when they signed her, I think Lottie Moss has some potential, because of her association with Kate Moss, her height and physical attribute(or lack of) could be overlooked, as working as a print model and a model for closing or opening a runway show(the bride!), or working as more of a "personality" type of model, if Lottie Moss doesn't excel and develop into an interesting model she will only last for 2 seasons, at most, if she can break out and become more cameleon as a print model she can continue working as a model for another 3 to 4 years, or more, but her career as a model can never come close to Kate Moss', because Kate Moss has a natural beauty that's quite mesmerizing and she knows how to move for the camera! Kate is really one of the best in the world, the other ones are Christy Turlington, Linda, Naomi, Gisele.

^Of course they knew what they were doing. Just becuase she is duller than a beige couch doesn't mean she won't sell. Kate has that effect... Lottie is pretty, but I have not seen a glimmer of modelling potential in her yet. Daivd Bailey (I think?) estimated that 99,5% of Kates popularity was due to her personality. Lotties personality (assuming she has one) has not come across in her photography or interviews yet, as far as I can see. Kate sparked controversy, while this girl is, as pointed out several times, as "vanilla" as they come.

@LadyAdi: If Kate couldn't open the door for short people, I doubt Lottie will. She is just following in the footstep of every famous persons relative who became a model based on her connections. There are lots of short models who were successful because they were born famous. Kate stands alone in this regard as far as I know.

Jeez, I hope homegirl isn't reading her thread. Lots of negativity going on here! I hear where all your opinions are coming from and don't disagree on any particular point, but we can always see where her career goes before we decide she can't have one right?

^I was thinking about that when I wrote. I hope she doesn't read this, because I am sure she is nice and all that, but at the same time, she is only famous because of Kate, so she should expect the comparison. And those are some pretty big, iconic shoes she is trying to fill... aaaand maybe I personally have a bad reaction to any "the new Kate Moss" claims:innocent:

Shrugs. This thread would be the one place where she gets treated like literally every model in the industry, rough. Because that's how the industry is, tough. And brutal things get said right to models faces. Unless of course they are a nepotism case.

She's a pretty girl, nothing for her to get upset about. But she, like most people, is no model. And if the industry does embrace her, in a few years they will likely be pushing her aside for Kate's daughter.

I need to agree with Heather, even though her early polas and her Dazed and Confused ed made me feel curious about how her future work could look like, the more I see, the less I like. That CK collaboration proved she's all about the last name... totally bland, lifeless and let's not even start talking about proportions. Kate's short, but her body is ridiculously well proportioned.... Lottie, on the other hand, well, let's say she wasn't blessed with the model genes in that department. Girl has some Kate in her eyes, but she's no model.

She's cute, but I'm just not convinced. I know she does not have much experience at all and I could be jumping to conclusions, but I honestly don't see the potential that I have seen in other fresh faces that have absolutely no experience either. I know because she is Kate's sister, we would all LIKE to see her as the next big thing, but I honestly just can't see it. Her face is pretty and I know Kate did it without the height, but Kate is Kate.. she didn't need the average model body to break into fashion. I don't know, I'm hoping she proves me wrong.

Also, her instagram selfies kind of ruined her for me. :ermm:

Yeah, the eyebrows :ninja: To me she is what Poppy is to Cara. Plain.
