I am officially here for Louis Vuitton campaigns being photographed by Steven Meisel. What an absolute treat, with this arguably being Léa Seydoux's best Vuitton campaign - ever. The colouring immediately took me back to Gucci's S/S 2001 campaign with Kate Moss by I&V!
I hate the bag but it’s a beautiful campaign and in a way, Meisel has found a way to make the bag shine in it environment...
Let’s be honest, it’s a very bourgeois and classic bag and it’s not really « Nicolas » or « Marc » (the bag was created under his era but not by his team).
The laying down and bags thing reminds me also of the Lara Stone for Vuitton campaign MAS and Meisel did in 2010.
I really like this bag tho, it's a good answer to the perfect top handle bag which is the Kelly. It is stuff like this that makes LV confusing because they have timeless bags like this shoved into Nicolas' 80s retrofuturism.
I think this beigey peachy aesthetic is more Marc than anything else and I associate this aesthetic with LV not what Ghesquiere is doing visually.
Granted, we've all seen the "in the unmade bed" scene before, but Meisel, and of course MAS, have turned this into another classic! Simple styling and Léa's exquisite here.
