I was in Bergdorf's friday with a friend who happend to be picking up two Luellas (she is a freak collector), one in that gorgeous brown suede with stitching detail and one in burgundy with wingtip cutouts. The suede one really is fabulous, one of the most beautiful bags of the season, the wingtip one is plain, not enough contrast between the body and the cutouts, but I like it better than in pictures. Just a heads up to anyone who is considering either of them.

I used to love the luella bag until I got one myself. I still love the way it looks but it is very unpractical. They leather is very bulky and heavy. I wish the bag came in a softer leather

i still love the patent pink original Gisele but in the smaller version and its perfect to carry, not too heavy.

I love the original Giselle, I don't know why they needed to update it. Mulberry have the Roxy bag which is a kind of update of the Giselle, which actually looks good when it's being carried...if that makes any sense

Yes, it would definitely be nice to see the original Giselle ( whic was glorious in red ) in a softer leather, maybe a nice soft calf. The pink was lovely too and the black leather Giselle was very striking.

I had to design a Giselle style bag at Karen Millen, but the one I designed was too close to the original, so they put a snaffle on the front of it!

Its a very bulky bag for that size plus it's quite heavy (the original size, that is). prepare to have 1 buff arm.

Too bulky - The old Luella has only JUST started to grow on me - so these will take a while!

get the medium sized one. the big one is too heavy even before you put any items in it. plus it doesnt look so bulky ...

i'm thinking about getting a luella on ebay. should i be worried about fakes..are there even any fakes of the gisele bag?
anyways i can't decide if i really love the bag enough to shell out so much money :/
anyone have an opinion about the new designs with the lacing up the side? i'm not sure if i like those better than the one coloreds or any reccomendations for other BIG leather bags..i have soo much crap like books i need to carry around.

I think you can get fakes of any designer bags and ebay is not a trusted place to get expensive bags from in my opinion, unless you know the seller well.

I would be really worried about buying designer bags on ebay: the replicas and fakes are too much, and often u see a photo of the original bag and when u receive the item...it's not the same as the photo...it's better wait when u've the ammount and go in the shops

Yes. Be worried. An uninformed consumer is exactly what counterfeit bag sellers are looking for.

I wanted to buy a baby gisella online too but I am farrr too weary of it.
Buy it at the store - more satisfaction getting the bag with it etc

the luella gisele is available in legitimate places online if authenticity is your primary concern...if not, i hear that guess? has a very similar bag if you just want the look for a cheap price (and guess? leather is actually not that bad of quality)
