from the site....These are clothes for every day: uncontrived, urban - that feel and look like the ultimate in dressed down chic.

i bought a top by this girl at harvey nic's...i really don't know who she is...so i thought i'd do a search...this is what i found...

also found this...apparently she has a store in london...

"Madeleine Press Ends Geeson Contract

British Designer Madeleine Press is to concentrate on her own label and store and has ended her consultancy with Geeson, the knitwear company.

Press has been getting much attention lately due to her fine tailoring skills and consecutively producing very strong spring/summer and autumn/winter collections.

Madeleine Press is located on Marylebone High Street and will also be available from Selfridges next season.

her stuff is lovely softgrey - Liberty in London also stocks. I really liked her winter collection - reminded me slightly of a cross between the styles of vanessa bruno & branquhino. Prices are quite good too. Thanks for this.

the clothes look really nice, Softgrey you always post the most interesting subjects, thank you:flower:

aww.......thanks mdankwah...you're so sweet..!!...:flower:

i totally agree helena...same feel as vanessa and veronique...but the price is better...
can't believe you knew about this and never shared... :hardhead:
what else are you hiding...:ninja:...

;)...

sorry softgrey I never really thought about it much - I think I posted sth last november about seeing sth nice in liberty made by Madeleine Press. I'll have a look at it next w/e (in London) and report back here!

the website says that it's sold here..
Gigantic Brand,
Nolita, New York

i have to find this store...i keep hearing about it...and apparently it's nearby...maybe this weekend...

I used some of her pieces in a shoot last summer - they were very gauzy and delicate, and perfect for what I needed, but then she changed press agent so I didn't see her collections around anymore.

I like her clothes - very wearable and not showy.

Madeleine Press

Hi, just happened across your posts. I'm Madeleines husband and thanks for all of the really nice things you've been saying about her work. I thought I could give you an update on how things are going here:

From next season Searle in New York have bought quite heavily from us. I've been talking to a number of US agents & PR's about carrying the collection from SS06 - any suggestions would be gratefully recieved. I was planning to pop out there to interview but Madeleine is 35 weeks pregnant and I don't think I'll ever forgive myself if our 1st comes and I'm not there.

The PR thing - it's always hard to get the right PR that really works with your culture. We're quite quiet and private as people, but the industry tries to push you into being some kind of party animals to get coverage. I think we've found an agency to balance both sides, so hopefully you'll start to hear more.

If you have any questions, or advice, please let me know.

:D

hi pidpoid...
so happy to meet you...welcome....
and congratulations on the impending birth!...great news for you two...!!
i will keep in mind that searle will be carrying the collection ....
that's great!...

if they liked it, you might want to talk to the people at Scoop nyc...
they also carry vanessa bruno bags there...and they have several outlets...
you might also talk to Calypso...
although they might be focusing on their own private label at this point..
just a couple of suggestions off the top of my head...

thanks for the pics of the fall stuff...
i'd love to see more!...
looks great!...

**regards to madeleine...:flower:

I'm familiar with some of her work, and for some reason I thought that I read about her on tfs. Anyhow I really like it...suits my aesthetic. I always love sculpted pieces and all the tailoring in her garments serves to sculpt in a lovely way.
I've only seen photos...would love to see in person.

Hello and best wishes to PidPoid on the stork visit.

thanks for bringing the topic softgrey.

Sales Agents

Thanks to everyone for the kind words, Mads is very chuffed.

I'm talking to a couple of sales agencies in New York (who also do publicity), about looking after our collection from next season. Does anyone have any experience of working with NY agencies, and maybe any recommendations of the good ones?

hi pidpoid - congrats to on the impending birth. Thanks for posting the a/w pictures - the collection looks very nice esp. the detail on the cream colored jacket. I saw some items in Liberty a few weeks ago but there weren't really any of the things that softgrey posted - it was mainly vest tops which makes me thing that a lot of the stock has been sold. There is a real femininity with her clothes and they are slightly whimsical too....I really see a similarity with Vanessa Bruno in Paris....

fingers crossed for the birth.
