Madeleine Press-Designer

hi pidpoid!
i really love your wife's creations, especially the ones you posted for the upcoming fall season! i was wondering if there are other outlets/shops in the UK where her clothes are sold, maybe in manchester? (which would be very convenient for me...)
or are there any future plans to stock here, maybe at selfridges or harvey nichols?
great you're posting here!
oh, and give lots of greetings to your wife!

Thanks to everyone for the kind words, Mads is very chuffed.

I'm talking to a couple of sales agencies in New York (who also do publicity), about looking after our collection from next season. Does anyone have any experience of working with NY agencies, and maybe any recommendations of the good ones?

i'm a stylist so i deal mainly with pr firms...
but i can tell you a bit about them...
are you looking at showroom seven?...
everyone seems to look at them...

what about the news?...
they are great but maybe too high end?...
although i think they handle 'development' which is along the same lines...

who else?..i will try to give you as much feedback as i can...:flower:

Dear Softgrey,

There are 3 agencies in the frame at the moment:
Denise Williamson
Nexus
Findings

Have you worked with any of them?

Showroom 7 - had a friend of the founder in the store a few weeks ago and she said we def. had to be with them - however, have heard they have a fearsome rep.

Hi liberty33r1b,

It's up to Slefridges & HN if they want to buy for Manchester as well - we are in the London stores at present. I know we won't be up there for AW05. No stores in Manchester at present, but have been toying with the idea of opening an MP store there with a friend as a sort of franchise. Where would be a good spot?

don't know nexus..
but the other two sound familiar...
who else do they represent?...

showroom seven are well known...
and a lot of newer labels go with them...but usually leave pretty quickly...
they are really difficult to deal with...
i think that THEY think they are more fabulous than they really are...:innocent:...
and i also think that all they care about is $$$...
i have had some negative experiences myself...
phone calls not returned...put on hold endlessly..etc...
just very bad manners and unprofessional...

So I've FINALLY done the look up I'd been threatening to do prompted by Ms. Meg's posts :p So lovely!!

Welcome pidpoid!

How nice to have you in our community! I'm assuming you and Madeleine are owed a congratulations at this point, so congrats on your bouncing baby

Very beautiful pieces. Looking forward to them coming anywhere near me, but in the meantime, I'll keep my eye out next time I'm in the big city! Best of luck in your agency efforts and regards to your talented wife :flower:

New York stockists

Just a quick note to say the collection is now avaiable in Searle in NY, and the Spring Summer collection will be in 9 Saks 5th Avenue stores.

Madeline Press pieces are gorgeous! I used to work in Harley St and walked pass her boutique. I fell in  with the clothes. Very simple and clean lines and extremely wearable.

I don't know how i missed this thread before as, as Curious noted, I have a lot of MP pieces!

Anyway, welcome pidpoid and thanks for the update. I thought I saw some MP pieces on this website....I can't find the post now (Faust gave it in the sales thread)....though I thought the price discrepancy odd in that a lot of MP pieces were less expensive in the states than they are here.....congrats on the expansion though! Esp. if the pieces end up on the Saks website....will be great great publicity......

The baby must be arrived by now non? Congrats! oh and ps I've always found the staff at the marylebone store very helpful. When I was there and I tried on this one dress I was worried that it washed me out and the SA was like yes, it does....i love honest SA's!

eta: claudia - thanks, that was the one I couldn't think of

thanks pidpoid...:flower:...

good news!...will def keep an eye out...
