Madonna

^^^ MDNA: Just wondering how big is she in China?

You know, M really needs to give it break with Riccardo. He always designs the same thing for her-- since 2008. It's always the same variation of elaborately embroidered bodysuit/ mini-skirt with thigh-high boots. I wish she would call on Gaultier again-- he always knew how to dress her so on point.

And I wish she'd ditch B. and reunite with Lori Goldstein. Her Bedtime Stories era gave the fashion world some of her strongest and richest looks; That Jean Harlow via Harlem style was brilliant: Sensual and soulful but playful.

And, also ditch Mert and Marcus. They never give her anything new.

^I was thinking the same thing! She's been doing that embroidered body suit, thigh high boots, and fishnets for what seems like a decade now! I understand she wants to show the newbies that she still can dress like the rest of them, but give it a rest, girl!

The General Public in China titles her as female emperor of pop, only Madonna, and her LFL Grammys performance also got a sea of prise on Weibo.

Madonna + JPG is magic together, I would never get enough of their collaboration.

For Riccardo, the costumes he designed for her Super Bowls Halftime show performance already making one of her most iconic looks, are they trying to be the new "Hebert de Givenchy with Audrey Hepburn"?!

I hope she would call Steven Meisel back this era, it's been a long time since they worked toghter last time, Louis Vuitton 2009 campaigns?!

She's on the Rolling Stone March issue cover.

^^^ Thanks for that bit of insight MDNA!

I always hear about the big Chinese pop stars of China/ Hong Kong, but not M. Although I remember Hong Kong did refer to her as the "female Elvis" at one time.

I wonder if she's planning to tour China this time?

Rolling Stone cover. ... Most likely just the angle of the shot of that snap, but the chin has her looking exactly like Gwen... Mert & Marcus once again is ripping off her past: Seems like it's Truth or Dare for this era's campaign. These guys are so boring to me. Yes, please reunite with Meisel, M.

I still remember over 1,000 people were queueing outside the H&M shop for her M by Madonna in Hong Kong.

I heard she's on the banlist of Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China, for her religious and sexual performance, and you can see her political opinions in her backdrop videos or some statements, actually that's a taboo for any celebrities in China.

Thanks god she's fine, her fall really scared me.

Madonna always knows how to get the headlines, accidental or otherwise! I'm impressed she kept going.

Madonna returns to the cover of Rolling Stone in our latest issue (on stands Friday) giving her most revealing, introspective and fiery interview in years. In the in-depth Q&A with senior writer Brian Hiatt, Madonna discusses her real feelings about Lady Gaga, her marriage to Guy Ritchie, her relationship with Judaism, her assessment of Kanye West, her love for Whiplash and much more.

"I don't think she wants my crown," Madonna says, referring to Gaga. "We live in a world where people like to pit women against each other. And this is why I love the idea of embracing other females who are doing what I'm doing. . .The only time I ever criticized Lady Gaga was when I felt like she blatantly ripped off one of my songs. It's got nothing to do with 'she's taking my crown' or 'she's in some space of mine.' She has her thing. I do think she's a very talented singer and songwriter. It was just that one issue. And everybody's obviously running with it and turned it into a huge feud, which I think is really boring, quite frankly. And you know what? I don't care anymore. Here's the thing: one day everyone's going to shut up about it. You'll see! I have a plan. "

But Madonna, who will release her new album Rebel Heart on March 6th (read our review of the album here), reserves her most passionate and eloquent remarks for the topic of ageism, in pop writing and in society. “It’s still the one area where you can totally discriminate against somebody,” she says, “and talk ****. Because of their age. Only females, though. Not males. So in that respect we still live in a very sexist society.”

“No one would dare to say a degrading remark about being black or dare to say a degrading remark on Instagram about someone being gay,” Madonna continues. “But my age – anybody and everybody would say something degrading to me. And I always think to myself, why is that accepted? What’s the difference between that and racism, or any discrimination? They’re judging me by my age. I don’t understand. I’m trying to get my head around it. Because women, generally, when they reach a certain age, have accepted that they’re not allowed to behave a certain way. But I don’t follow the rules. I never did, and I’m not going to start.”

And if you’re wondering if there was a message behind showing off her bare butt on the Grammys’ red carpet: “This is what a 56-year-old *** looks like, mother****ers!” she says. And to the suggestion that her awe-inspiring physique isn’t exactly average, she retorts, “You know what? It could be the average some day! That’s the thing.” (Listen to Madonna’s entire statement on ageism in pop culture below.)

“When I did my sex book, it wasn’t the average,” Madonna says. “When I performed ‘Like a Virgin’ on the MTV Awards and my dress went up and my *** was showing, it was considered a total scandal. It was never the average, and now it’s the average. When I did Truth or Dare and the cameras followed me around, it was not the average. So if I have to be the person who opens the door for women to believe and understand and embrace the idea that they can be sexual and look good and be as relevant in their fifties or their sixties or whatever as they were in their twenties, then so be it.”

Being yanked from atop 4 steps by the neck backwards wearing those Miu Miu heels, then getting up seconds later to continue with her show makes her the ultimate pro. Even if you hate her, you have to admire her determination and showmanship.

I love the addition of the two Japanese girls-- and the New Vogue choreography... I've seen this duo before and hope they'll be with her for this era.

MDNA: I think she's been on China's banlist since the beginning of her career!

She was up to 4 am for checking for concussions, the queen absolutely deserved all the praise.

See, Gaultier would have thought out every single safeguard for her wardrobe-- without ever sacrificing and compromising the overall aesthetic of the costume. Even Arianne, whom I'm not fond of as her costume-designer, always designed with safety and practicality in mind. This B. person, she's so thoughtless. The cape could have been easily secured with weighted tassels to ensure it would not slip off but still easily and safely pulled off--and without damage to the piece, or compromise the aesthetic.

And so weird to see all the dancers not even flinching to aid her--except for the two girls... I know they were the ones pulling off the cape, and they must of been horrified, but to see the rest of the dancers just not moving in to help her-- or even bother to catch her as she fell. Weird. I get that it all happened very quickly, but being dancers, they have superhuman reflexes-- were they all looking at the floor...?

Finally on their official account, it's not easy to see clearly in those Givenchy crystallized masks right?! And that 2 girls must freaked it out, turning to stones I guess.

I miss the Madonna who used to set trends rather than follow them. It's strange to think that the last time she produced iconic music was ten years ago.

She's wearing Marc Jacobs F/W 2015 on the Jonathan Ross Show.
