I plan on doing much, much more of this type of work, especially with heavier gauge brass. I want to try 18 and 16 gauge, and maybe some brass soldering rods.
so i forget do you just roll paper very tight and then what ?? i havent done it in years and my memorys going in old age lol (well 15 is old compared to a baby)
i supose you could quil them but since i didnt have the equiptment i just rolled the paper making sure there was a hole through the middle to string the elastic.
you can make them different widths and colours which i like since its versitile. plus if you cut the paper so that it tappers of to one end (gets thinner) and start rolling from the thick end it will create a different shape rather than the 'bead' being a tube.
ok, so after reading about all of the creations you guys make, and seeing the beautiful pictures, I decided to try my hand at jewllery making. please go easy on me as I have never done this before...but I have a lot of time on my hands and wanted to do something artsy besides taking pictures...so here you have it! I signed up for a deviant art acount to post the images to, I hope you guys like them...not a lot yet, but more coming!
thank-you so much for the comments, fab...any constructive criticism?
here are two more pieces that I added, I like these quite a lot, although the second one is not something I would wear myself, the first one is (I have and got lots of compliments on it)
Im still a little sheepish about showing these, the second one is not finished yet. the edges on the ends need to be cleaned up, and a new fastening clasp is needed in the back. I will adjust the length on all of the ends, and have been thinking about adding some small black feathers for that extra little bit of cartoon-villain oomph that I was somehow going for
side note: the second is made out of flooring scraps!
