Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S 2014 New York

a lot of those silk material dresses kinda remind me of Miu Miu 2011 but other than that it's okay nothing that stands out to me

The drumstick pants are HIGHLY unflattering. I like some prints but overall its not good.

Oooh, shiny things! I liked a few of them. I didn't care much for the stars or the prints but some of the simple, more casual pieces looked good (speaking of the women's, I ignored the men's stuff). Finally, a show that I found fun and not too serious.

so this is the first collection that luella worked on then, right?

the shiny school jackets remind me of the pieces she did for target.

I think so, yes.

I am by no means a fan of shiny fabrics or pastel colors but I quite enjoyed the general feel of this whole collection. I thought that look with the nightgown-ish kind of dress underneath the trenchcoat was interesting and I liked the outfit with the tiny shorts. I thought this was one of the better collections at NYFW so far.

I was liking to the first third of the collection, but then it went south fast when all the cheap and shiny fabrics came trotting out. Ugh.

Ooh I like this. There a quite a few piece I can see adding to my wardrobe. I wish I could wear green cause I would love that mint dress.

It's not the best MBMJ collection and I haven't LOVED one in years, but it's a step up from the sh** they've been doing the last couple of seasons. For starters, that pink and green top on CBN is gorgeous. Love the colors there. Those varsity/bomber jackets have me salivating. The metallic silver mens one is my favorite, but the red/champagne ones in both mens and womens are gorge as well. I love the use of sparkle/sequins.

shocked by this lame vision for next spring. you can find much nicer satin jackets secondhand.

I'd pair one of those satiny jackets with jeans. Could be sweet.

Also like the shoes and the neck scarves. ^_^

The satin garments are a festival of puckering...but somehow I like them. They look very home-made, like taken straight from Etsy.

The only thing I see is how much profit they are going to make, because I think the difference between the production costs vs selling price is huge.

The concept of this collection is great. The execution not so much.
If you look up close a lot of pieces are sewn together very cheaply.
