I'm considering buying Marc Jacobs flats, but I'm conflicted.... based on the price, are they worth it? Do they last a long time?

^Depending on which ones...I would say they are nicely made shoes. The studded flats, and other various styles this season are of decent quality(obviously I haven't walked around in any though). However I have seen enough of the velvet flats that are only 200 USD to tell you they are not worth it. I think instead of buying Marc by Marc flats you should save for the Marc Jacobs FW 05 flats. They are amazing in quality...and absolutely stunning.

about how much are they?

I spent $400 and bought the most expensive pair of shoes I ever bought - Marc by Marc jacob ankle straple pump in emerald suede with studds, OMG, I love them sooooo much, they are comfortable, and I haven't been too gentle with them, i walked in them a lot and they still look great! i am not sure if I would be willing to spend that much on shoes again in the future but I don't regret buying that pair!

this should probably be in the shoe section...moved :flower:

The only Marc Jacobs shoes I have are a pair of black, faux-croc, mary jane flats. (the real croc were selling for over $2000! ) Anyways, I bought mine at a consignment shop for $90! They were gently used but still seem to last. I wouldn't have paid $400 for them however.

A great way to make shoes last is by buying those rubber adhesives that stick to the very bottom (outside) of your shoe. They protect your shoe from wearing down on the hard concrete (great if you live in the city!)

^excellent tip!

i love my MJ and Marc Jacobs shoes... I have several pairs of both and they are the most comfortable shoes I own that aren't casual. I only have leather and suede ones though, no cloth/fabric/ect. The leather stretches after a little while and forms around your foot... love them.

I think they're totally worth it. All of my pairs are excellently made and the one pair that I've worn to hell and back is still in wonderful condition. They do, however, hurt a bit when you first begin wearing them, but as they're broken in, they get comfortable. There's not much arch support, so I wouldn't say they're worth it if you're looking for that (I'm not so it doesn't bother me), but otherwise, they're great.

I agree!! I think they're totally worth it!! And yeh, they do kinda hurt when you first wear them but after the first few wears, they're fine. I think that's with most shoes anyway...

I finally was able to get a hold of the multi-coloured roxy peep-toe flats with the ankle strap in my size!! And even though they're an older style, I love them!!

Oh sorry to hear that kylie80.

i have 2 pairs of marc's flats. i love them! they're comfortable on me. one i bought 2 years ago and still wearing them. the both pair i bought was on sale though. i didn't want to spend 300$ on flats. hehe

I really want a pair of these, but the velvet concerns me. Does it wear easy? Anyone have an opinion on these shoes???

are they really that uncomfortable? cause i was considerng getting a pair of mj flats, but now that i read that....
and thats too bad, cause esp yours look soo beautiful

They're pretty but can be, nonetheless, quite blister inducing. I still think they are worth it (unless they're way too painful to wear) because of how nice they look.

Agreed. I have a pair of the Mouse flats. I love them and they're okay comfort-wise but they're definitely not the most comfortable flats ever. It just depends how much comfort you're willing to sacrifice for the "look".

It's quite weird that now we have to suffer for flats as well!

When will it end? To the answer.. in general..no.

i ended up buying these flats :

when i tried em on they seemed so comfortable and i tought it was because the sole isnt leather so its more flexible.

too bad i decided to wear them yesterday and i've been walking all day - i was in total pain, and now im full of blisters. but i guess i'll keep on wearing them, maybe just not when i have to walk a lot, cause they're too cute.

i think marc by marc shoes are adorable, but one of the pairs i have is SO uncomfortable. very cute, but painful.

I have a pair of cute Marc Jacobs flats I picked up in TKMaxx for about £25-30 IIRC. And very comfortable they are too. Cushioned insole and the sole on the bottom is rubber instead of leather which means they'll last longer. ^_^

I have them, too . They are soooo cute but I also can say they are not the most comfartable shoes, you shouldn't walk a lot with them. I just wore them once and that day I went to a big fashion department store and tried some shoes, omg my back of the feet was pink because of the shoes' pink back lining,it was a little embarrassing:shock:
