Marc Jacobs S/S 2009 New York

What is that Rachel Zoe says? "I die"? That's how I feel right now.
This is phenomenal and makes me feel tragic for not being there.

This is fantastic! But where's Sasha? racked.com reported that she almost slipped in a dress but I didn't see any picture of her.

LOVE THE SET! I think Marc really does pieced in too much garments into each and everyone look. But still, individual pieces are very much a lust. AWESOME!

And it's official that indian waistbelts is one of the hottest coming trends, and when I mean official, I mean Marc.

what's so great about marc jacobs?

his collections are so forgettable imo.

He's definitely redeemed himself with this one after a few strings of disappointment. I agree a lot with Spike, he got rid of all the gimmicks and the homage nonsense and came up with a solid collection. wasn't magical but certainly satisfactory

that's great disco
also a feeling of the French in Africa, no ?
with the boaters
and even minus the turbans, you can get the idea from the way women in Africa wrap themselves in patterned fabrics

Anyway :o
i was looking forward to seeing the full collection
but am a little disappointed..
the clothing looked SO much better in those runway shots from racked.com (?)
the lamé and jewels shine up a lot more and you can see all of the reliefs in the fabrics
the white light here washes everything out

I snuck into the show tonight. I was my first fashion show and it was a lot of fun. Pandemonium outside and before the show. Very cool vibe and the clothing was great. I'd post pictures but I'm sure you guys will get the best quality shots imaginable. I must say, for a guy, I was top 10 dressed in the building. All in all a really fun night.

this is wayyy way better than f/w!
im excited!!
i love marc!!

i respectfully disagree. his collections, whether i love them or not, are very memorable to me.

I feel the same way. Even the Marc Jacobs collections I hated (and there were many!) were striking. I can understand other criticisms, but I just don't think "forgettable" is valid.

oh hey this takes me back to Dries van Noten's 2008 collections...
eastern made western...

responding to spike seeing Seurat:
i see Anne of Green Gables..

this is soooo good...:heart::heart:
i love the dichotomy of the modern set against the clothing...
and the clothes!!! i love the tapestry skirts and the colors...

some of it reminds me of the way my grandmother used to dress, wearing her apron over her clothes...

I don't recall much about his stuff. They all look like something I can find at the mall or vintage stores or young Hollywood wearing. I do remember that one of his collections looked like something an old lady would wear.

A fashion DJ, mixing and matching, ripping and scratching. I prefer it when he goes grit. This is almost too ready, makes me wonder what'll he pull at Vuitton, usually the more polished of his girls. Steady styling helps keep the hodge podge together. There's a print for all seasons, fake lengths and shapes synchronized to to mask the myriad of options for the buyers. All in all: no tricks up his sleeves. Up his skirt might be another story...

^ but doesn't he seem like the recent seasons he is interchanging the two... doing messy work at louis vuitton while doing more polished things for his own label...

it was the other way around before
