The series with the pearls definitely ranks among my favorites, but the photo above eluded me, until recently. Hopefully it hasn't been posted. :D

I have this huge Marilyn print over my bed that watches over me when I sleep.

When I saw these for the first time too.....I was so taken aback.......just WOW.......I don't blame you, something about this photo is too delicious......

Style Icon: Marilyn Monroe

She wooed a president; appeared on the sleeve of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band; got itchy with Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon in Billy Wilder's classic romp, Some Like It Hot; and was featured on the cover of Hugh Hefner's very first issue of Playboy. (The magazine potentate has since secured the crypt next to hers.) Now, 80 years after her birth, and 44 after her mysterious death, the potency of Marilyn Monroe's sex-goddess image—the platinum locks, the beauty mark, the ripe figure—continues, unabated. For proof that she's never really died in the popular imagination, you need only look to current superstars Madonna and Gwen Stefani. What's more, this month marks the release of Vogue contributor Bert Stern's new book, Marilyn Monroe: The Complete Last Sitting, along with related exhibitions at the Musée Maillol in Paris and the Staley-Wise Gallery in New York, plus an American Masters documentary about her life in photographs on PBS, all of which prove that not only gentlemen prefer this blonde.

ragtag, La bordélique, jennifer~ and LoveMyBoots thank you for all those amazing pics!!!:woot: I love them :flower:

What is the magic with her that keeps us all so fascinated with her? I can name a thousand better actresses (though she was superb). Still, why have I been so attracted to her since childhood? She's just a big mystery to me.

It's funny, but there's lots of actresses that were very popular during their time, but we never hear about them now. There's just certain stars that have that charisma...

***If you live in the US, check out the TV listings for a show on PBS called "American Masters: Marilyn Monroe: Still Life". It's a retrospective of all of her photographs, and interviews with the photographers and friends, and audio clips of Marilyn being interviewed. Just amazing! A must see!!***

thanks everyone for finding all these great pics! Sometimes you really gotta dig for new Marilyn pics but this thread keeps on turning them up!

^^nice pics some are even never seen before stuff!

I'm right now reading Blond (fiction book about Marilyn life) which I don't really like much, but it's funny that Marilyn pops overthe places.. but of course here birth are some years and so on, they celebrate that. Nice to see that people don't forget her - hard to believe that after my dead many people think me so much!
