Marimekko Corporation and Banana Republic, a brand owned by Gap Inc., have today signed an agreement to collaborate and design a capsule collection for summer 2014. The partnership will be a continuation of the international brand collaborations that Marimekko has introduced in recent years, reflecting the widespread interest in Marimekko’s original prints and design philosophy. The capsule collection will be sold in select Banana Republic stores and online channels worldwide.
In addition to increased international visibility, the collaboration with Banana Republic is expected to generate significant royalty earnings to Marimekko during the last quarter of 2014.
