Marni's menswear suffered on the catwalk. There simply wasn't enough there there. This season's showroom presentation offered an opportunity to explore the strengths—and the weaknesses—of Consuelo Castiglione's collection for men. There still wasn't an awful lot to it, but, honing a fetishist's eye for detail, one could extract some substance. Cue Consuelo's fixation on Kim Gordon's watercolors. She wasn't so entranced by the Sonic Youth concert she saw, but she loved Kim's artwork enough to get her to contribute a T-shirt graphic. From that it was possible to extrapolate a grungy subtext in the collection, particularly with an acid-green mohair sweater, or a Seattle-worthy long-john-and-sweatshirt combo. Admittedly, the latter was in cashmere, which supported Consuelo's affection for the notion of "elegant punk." And it was a similar spirit that took classic menswear emblems—like the striped shirt, the camel coat, the duffel coat—and warped them into Marni-land. (Patchwork the stripes, razor-cut the hems on the camel, line the duffel with button-out shearling—that's how it's done.)

I would wear most of this. So casually polished and it doesn't push the "elegant punk" idea. Just enough elegance so that the "punk" is simply an undertone.

I'm sad that this is just a presentation, but this is smile-worthy. Spashes of colour at the right places. It's youthful. :D

Love the 3 look that sweater looks amazing and the pants look very interesting

I adore the first look in post 6. Overall it's a neat effort although I'm unsure what to think about the excessive amounts of long Johns.

omg, i love ALL of this. I could see myself wearing almost everything from this collection.

My favorite so far.

some pieces are really to die for. I like Marni's aesthetics, one never looks like he's trying too hard if he wears Marni.

There is nothing here that can't be found for a 100th of the price anywhere else and since I (for one) am no longer a slave to the status label, would buy this boring basics elsewhere.
There is no innovative cut or detail or color or print that is apparent in the womenswear. So where is the value?

I really like this! Although I'm not too fond of the thick leggings or whatever they are called.. I like the color palette too

I'd love to wear most of them as well! Those pants!
