Mary Alice Stephenson was born in Birmingham, Michigan, and her only connection to fashion was her love for Harpers Bazaar and Vogue that started when she was a young girl. So how did she manage to make her way into the industry?
Mary Alice’s first job was as an assistant editor at Vogue to none other than…Anna Wintour! After years of working her way through the ranks with various magazines (Marie Claire, Allure and Harpers Bazaar, to name a few), Mary Alice became the contributing fashion editor for Harpers Bazaar as well as a style consultant and commentator.
Along with working for Harpers Bazaar, Mary Alice does consulting with designers as well as Fortune 500 companies. She has been the spokesperson for Sarah Jessica Parker’s perfume, MAC and even Estee Lauder. She’s also worked with The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times as well as Good Morning America. Besides having this great resume, Mary Alice’s magic really comes to life when she styles a cover for a magazine. She loves being able to have creative freedom with each of the shoots she participates in, and we’re glad that she does!
