wondering why she has yet to chosen as an angel to replace Lily A.
It does not work that way and if it did then it would have made more sense for Maryna to be angel-ized when Doutzen got pregnant.

IMO her management is nuts if they did not try to get her booked for the SI Swimsuit issue.

I know how it works, but she deserves to be an angel more than Lily does imo.
as for SI i don't think that's what Maryna wants though. She left DNA to take on a more high fashion career (which I am assuming FORD promised her that), balance it with her money jobs, and get more editorials a la an Anja Rubik moment. Even though she does VS I don't see her posing for SI, although I am sure she has been contacted by them before.^_^

I really hope Ford and Maryna have more sense than to have her in SI. The swimsuit issue is truly awful these days. How much has being on the cover done for Bar Rafaeli or Marissa Miller or any of the recent cover girls. It's not like when Julie Taylor was in charge and being as SI swimsuit girl could boost a career. Most of the girls in the issue now are third-tier models.

I know Paul Rowland is there, but why would she switch to Ford to "take on a more high fashion career." Also I thought it was you, but maybe it was someone else, who said that Maryna's former agency wanted her to walk more shows and she was resisting, that does not sound like something someone would do who wants a high fashion career, those Anja Rubik moments don't just fall off trees. I am not saying that she wants to abandon high fashion, and I assume that she changed agencies for a reason, but I get the whiff that Maryna likes clothes and is ambitious but I don't get the whiff that she aspires to be a couturier's and / or photographer's muse, I suspect that she wants a commercial or beauty contract.

Is that inside information because not that I have first-hand knowledge, but I did not think that SI recruited models unless it is an established babe model like Brooklyn Decker or a model with a celebrity boyfriend.

Being affiliated with Sports Illustrated definitely helped Marisa Miller perhaps not in ways that the high fashion crowd deem worthy but it has - note that I said affiliated and am not referring to being on the cover. I don't think that being part of the SI Swimsuit Issue is a guaranteed career booster but it does not hurt a model's career either. Anne V., Hilary Rhoda, Isabeli and Ana Beartiz have done it. Izabel Goulart appeared in it the most recent issue which came out in February 2011 and was part of the Givenchy Haute Couture cast this summer. The reason why I advocate it is because the models who appear in the issue do press, go to parties and events and therefore gain visibility and presumably broaden their contacts in the fashion and media industry.

that was I believe Model Whisperer:flower:, but I think now Maryna just isn't being casted for shows. Her castings for shows have never been consistant, and for someone with an amazing body and walk it baffles me. About the switch, all the info I heard dealt with her wanting more editorial work, but I am not sure if runway was included in that high fashion evolution.

and about the SI stuff, I was just guessing. They featured her on their website as the photo of the week (VS picture of course) so I am sure they have been keeping an eye or her, or at least have taken notice of her.

I just hate the way SI looks now, before it was sexy and expensive looking, now their photos look so cheap. I saw some recent photos of Cintia Dicker, and they looked so amatuer, and I would hate for Maryna to come off looking cheap. But this is her career not mine:lol:

but upcoming work to look out for (she's been working a lot):

- Shoot styled by Giovanna Battaglia (assuming W or maybe Garage)
- Shoot with Andreea D. (rumored to be for RL, but who knows)
- Shoot with Alexi Lubomirski (German Vogue or US Bazaar)
- Shoot she did this week
- She was working in Miami besides wit Alexi

and just as I was typing:woot::
Working with amazing Sebastian Faena! Major:)
all via her twitter (i am assuming V Magazine)

Much. Very much.

Aweful or not - its subjective. For you - aweful, for the public (non models fans) - amazing. Regardless its impact is still big.

But speaking of Maryna, I dont know would be nice to see her doing SISE but I wont cry if she does not. I like her for vs better. And thanks for the upcoming work list, Trevo, looking forward to all that and more :woot:

How bout the golden "old days" when models did SI one day and Vogue Italia the next, now that would be somethin great to see again. I love when models branch out and try all avenues they are capable of, and I think Maryna surely can rock it all, commercial and hf. :)

but yeah sadly I am not fond of SI photography anymore. I haven't liked an issue since the early 00's.

Yeah, I think now in her career, she aspires for more commercial than HF, it's more money and exposure.

SI covergirls have done GREAT things for them, and they're recent too, Brooklyn Decker, Bar Rafaeli, and Marissa Miller???
