Matching Shoes and Handbags?

Never match exactly... Go together, yes. Perfectly match, no.

u should try to match it with the same colour of your top or pants...

I try to avoid that issue by carrying a neutral colored bag with colorful shoes or vice versa.

generally yes, unless your shoes or bag match some other aspect of your outfit-

IE- Red top, red heels & sparkly clutch

and get a matching belt too- at least the same color family- Brown belt w/ brownish/ tan accesorires, black belt w/ blach accesories-

I hate to see someone with black shoes and brown belt.
Thats my total pet peeve!

I was looking at Beige girl who has three Coach bags all with the matching shoes, all I have to say is...I love her.

From a Sales Associates standpoint this is like the best thing anyone has ever thought of, cause you absolutely know it was invented by an SA at like Saks or something, right? Because women want the Patchwork bag lo-and-behold there are the matching sneakers and some even get the wedges too...

From a regular persons standpoint, I find it to be incredibly boring and dull, I love coordinating bags and shoes but they dont have to match, actually I dont like it if my shoes and bag are too close of a match.

They don't have to.
Even if they don't, it'd look great.
If it did, it'd look great too.

not necessarily, the shoes and handbag don't have to be a set.
As long as they complement each other in a way, I find it to be more interesting than always wearing shoes and handbags from the same set.
:)

I dont think they have to match at all the more interesting and unique your outfit the better, tho that does not mean accompanying a really mature black leather handbag with some ourageously right and kooky technicoloured wellington boots!!!! anything that looks and fells great!

HELP!!!

I'm going to a celebrity party Thursday. Am wearing a black and white Michael Kors halter dress (knee length0 with high-heeled black patent leather sandals. Can I carry a pink shimmery faux-snakeskin baguette clutch? Is the clash too much?

Dress similar to this one (only mine has more black)

Purse material similar to this (but it's a hard baguette clutch, small)

I wouldn't do pink- It seems a bit random. I'd do a white clutch to pick up the white in the dress

I don't think bags and shoes should match, I find it too simple and easy...I think co-ordination works better.

Carrie, I like the idea of having a pink clutch it makes a feature of the whole outfit, if you hand a white bag you would look to matched up.

sometimes, i quite like wearing my pink balet pumps and my pink bag if im wearing a skirt cos i got a compliment on it last summer from a stranger so i geuss it looks ok

i think theyre supposed to coordinate, but sometimes when im lazy or uninspired ill do the matchy matchy thing

Do you match the color/shade of your shoes to your bag?

Hi TFS experts! A friend came to me with this question recently and I told her I'd collect info from you guys then get back to her. :)

Actually her specific question was if she can wear chocolate brown shoes with her tan/cognac bag. I also see celebs like Jen Aniston wear a brown belt and shoes with a black bag. Do you think this is okay?

Thanks guys! :)

I think it is ok with different shades of brown. With brown/black combination I am more cautious, but it can also look fine. However, I would never wear my lipstick red patent shoes with my bordeaux Paddington.

I wouldn't hesitate to mix different browns or browns/black; I do that all the time.

But like Zarina says, it gets trickier with other colours like reds or blues. Trust your judgement, if you think that colours complement each other then go ahead!

I never match match my shoes with my bag. They only match most of the times because I use my black bag most of the times and I most of my shoes are black.
