Matthieu Blazy - Designer, Creative Director of Chanel

Mathieu Blazy at Chanel is either a masterstroke of calculated rebellion or a risk that could fracture the very DNA of the brand. There’s no middle ground here, either he will breathe fresh, avant-garde life into a label weighed down by its own legacy, or he’ll fail to capture the elusive magic that made Chanel, Chanel in the first place.

He has literally said it multiple times he just wears whatever his stylist gives him. These “journalists” are so starved for stories they’re grasping at straws.

Also he’s already in a perfume commercial for them, why would that even be a surprise?…

Its honestly so disappointing to see what the media covering fashion has come to. Like really? Who gives a sh*t what Jacob Elordi is potentially going to wear.

That’s quite a stupid article indeed. Being the brand ambassador for Bottega Veneta didn’t prevent him for starring in a Chanel commercial…Much like being the brand ambassador of Chanel did not prevent Margot Robbie to wear Bottega Veneta in her public events.

If one thing, Jacob would be more believable as the face of BLEU.

Give a man a purse and he's a fashion icon. So much androgyny, David Bowie is shook.
Bowie, Kurt Cobain, Harry Styles...
I don't like Jared Leto or Billy Porter, but they have more style and identity than Jacob
The industry or internet should stop trying to make Jacob a fashion icon, he ain't Timothee with a natural gift

Be nice to him he dindu nothing. He is way more chic hanging with Sophia looking like that than the AGP clowns

Honestly, I think he wore it for Sofia's approval because she's a main Chanel girlie (can't wait for her Chanel couture bts book, coming out in September) and they were promoting a film together at the time (for which Chanel had also contributed costumes)

I'm all for men using handbags because it never made sense for them not to. But WWD should have more self-respect than to be publishing entire articles about something so minor and speculative.

Nah, John Fairchild is smiling somewhere at petty articles like this.

If it were petty or juicy in any way, it'd be a different story. Elordi is already working with Chanel currently, rendering the "Will he work with Chanel next?" speculation a moot point. He already is. There's no story, no insight, it's nothing. It's fodder for a tweet at best, not an article.
