Maxi Dresses S/S 08

I saw many many beautiful maxi dresses, but I can't pull them off. Somehow they don't really associate with living in urban city. I can only imagine wearing this in countryside...

I was just looking for some full-length dresses the other day. I am short but would still like something long for this summer. Unfortunately, these stunning dresses signed by high-end designers are way too pricey for me. I am surprised chain stores haven't caught on this trend quicker this year. I only saw about one or two options at H&M when I was there but I am hoping they will stock some more within a couple of weeks.

You should check Zara, they have loads!!

My mother wears a lot of dresses like those. She is like 5'8' and I'm 5'1', I don't think I'll ever find one for me :(

I live in a city and loads of girls were them .. with flip flops and that in the day and killer heals for evenings .. is just geting the right type of dress for it but it is defantly something you can pull of in the city .. last summer in my city people even wore them to the office it got that big.. if you like them go for it .. they can defantly be urban :)

I see women wear them here in the city. During the day with casual sandals or espadrilles and at night platforms and high heels. I love Maxi dresses with strappy sandals personally.

in hollywood not all those who wear them are 6 feet tall yet they manage to look decent in them.
eva longoria and jessica simpson for one wear them and they look ok.

now am still looking for THE perfect one to get for me

I have try to find some that suits me but I have no luck yet. This looked so lovely but not for me, back was really weird.

I just bought a black and white maxi dress at H&M yesterday :) I'm 5'7" and with flats the dress is pretty much grazing the floor. It's a tube top, so for work I'll put a little light cardi/jacket on top...can't wait to wear it :)

I think I got to see a maxi dress this past weekend. It wasn't any of the ones with the very full skirt part of the dress, but there was a cute maxi dress I did see a woman wear. It was mostly black with white accents abound. Haven't seen too many "tent" dresses. I don't know... maybe not a lot of ladies like wearing dresses, at least around my way. I love that dress in Post #69.

I got this one from H&M, very cheap. And almost hits the floor, and I am 6 feet tall.

Also ordered a pink one from H&M, but that one is too short for me :(

^ those are all pretty gorgeous. especially the print on the cavalli one.

Target has them now.

I just got one from Target today and I love it. I was surprised when I tried it on because I'm only 5'2 but it wasn't dragging the ground and it didn't look bad. :)

I don't think that Eva Longoria and Jessica Simpson can pull them off. They make them look cheap and tacky. Gwen Stefani and Angelina Jolie, however...
