McQueen F/W 2025.26 Paris

You sound silly this is not just a brand McQueen was a soul and that soul is no longer with us
That´s obvious (no need for the silly part)...but it is also obvious they could have look for someone more suitable for the job. At least someone who really cares for the work of Alexander McQueen.

I'm sorry I was harsh (very big McQueen fan) but there is no one suitable for that job the suitable person for their job got fired and went to givenchy. Sean should pull a real McQueen and go his own way he's going to get fired anyway so it doesn't really matter Go your own Way. He should let his ideas out get the experience and screw the establishment and go his own way

I am also a McQueen fan since 1996 (the collection from him that caught my attention was "Dante"). Out there could be someone suitable for this job, the problem is that Kering (and the rest of conglomerates) do not care to find the right one (nor they search outside their confort zone).

This guy has not personality at all to go his own way. He has no vision nor will to get one (he even does not care about researching Alexander work properly, taking into consideration how clueless about it he has been from the start).

He's very clueless it seems like he's not digging deep enough.

There is a serious improvement here, more maturity, less "angry teenager".
The clothes at least look luxurious and the craftsmanship looks impeccable.
I still hate those stupid hats, face maks, scarves hanging from bags. And dear Lord those shoes. THOSE SHOES !
I couldn't stop thinking about the toilet scene in White Chicks...

There is definitely something to work with here!! Depending solely on whether Kering is looking to continue to invest in Sean, or if they will just do away with him like they did with De Sarno guy. The dresses here will do the rounds on the red carpets for sure!! Some of them are actually good. Also the non wearable pieces will definitely do the editorials. So in that sense it works. But bigger question will this translate into sales and growth for McQueen? What is selling in the stores, what are the drivers? Who is the customer buying etc etc etc If he can translate all of this into sales then he may have a chance to continue but if he doesn’t inspire positive sales figures it’s a done deal if not already they certainly didn’t waste time with De Sarno!! So let’s see what happens. Could all end very swiftly.

I don't think Kering would fire McGirr. They still need to focus on reviving Gucci first, and then there’s the issue of Balenciaga and Saint Laurent’s stagnating sales. My guess is that they’ll let his contract expire, as the situation at McQueen may not be as dire as at Gucci, and the brand has never been a top priority. Or they should force McGirr to master the basics, because his attempts to modernize archival tailoring haven't been successful and feel sloppy. After all, there must be a reason why he got hired in the first place.

This is just not good. Not good for McQueen, not good for any brand. This fails as a collection before it even gets judged against the brand.

Pile of garbage.

McQueen on the moodboard of a TOPSHOP capsule collection for halloween in 2005 or something!!!

i feel sad for Lee all he worked for to be replaced by such a talentless mediocre AI bot of a creative director ...
its all the things he fight against the banality of mediocrity and cheapness of corporate greed on full display here in the flesh.

In 2025 I'm not sure I need a story told or a world built, especially when the world being built and stories being told in reality are pretty ugly, and escape from them doesn't seem reasonable. Regardless of who is at McQueen or what they're doing, it will always, and I mean always, be overshadowed by Lee and that seems like something many people here just can't come to terms with, which is fine.

That being said, if McQueen without McQueen had to look a certain way in 2025, this is what I'd want. I'm the minority in loving this, I know, but it shows growth and there's a lot to be desired pieces by piece. Again the minority but I loved those stupid masks, we're still living through a plague and they seemed relevant. I'm happy for Sean and excited to see where this goes.

It's so drab and faceless. It wasn't hard to see this coming tbh, in fact I called it was soon as Sarah left. The McQueen we know - Lee's McQueen - that is impossible to recreate without the creative vision and the storytelling. These are just clothes. There's nothing to them beyond the threads and fabrics.

Its exactly why you do need to tell a story because his Lee didn't tell escape stories he showed the not pretty side so we can find better ways to deal with it or do better .......a different message to each show.

all brands that do well have something to say even if as basic as brand positioning, or targeted audience ....this is just empty on all levels

Why is he forccing himself to do structural gowns and doing so much frou. Hasn't he learned from burton, to move mcqueen forward you don't necessarily need all that. Just understand the core of the brand and the mcqueen codes. Burton stayed true to Mcqueen without copying what he did. She laid out the codes that should have been Mcgirr's foundation, instead he is pushing for silhouettes that should not exist in the Mcqueen world.

He should first try his hand at creating a proper suit and a pant with the mcqueen codes. Without all the frou and convince us that he is technically able, then from there he can slowly add his frou. Where is he getting the pointed sleeves? what mcqueen collection is that from
