^ THIS!
I know I made a post similar to this back when I was... well.... much less educated about the modeling industry, but I figured I’d make one again, since anyone remotely invested in it can easily see how blasphemous these lists are (esp. Hot List & Money Girls).
Take off the Hot List:
Ariel Nicholson (Fantastic trans model with top bookings to her name, but she definitely hasn’t established herself enough for Top 50 throughout the years, and now looks like a Hot List filler.)
Aweng Chuol (Eventually, she’s probably going to be taken off the list. Seems like part of the reason she’s there is because she’s worked with MDC on several occasions.)
Edwina Preston (Don’t know much about her. I would assume her Gucci work initially put her on Top 50, but her strong affiliation with them didn’t last very long, and, again, she just looks like a filler now.)
Emily Gafford (I don’t know much about her either, but she definitely seems to have slowed down over the years.)
Hayett McCarthy (Either she’s taking a break from modeling or her bookings sharply decreased in a very short amount of time. Either way, things are slowing down.)
Jessie Bloemendaal (There was a point in time where she should’ve been on Top 50, but now, with her career slowing, I think it’s best to take her off Hot List overall.)
Kesewa Aboah (Added for being Adwoa’s sister, she’s booked pretty similarly to Ariel Nicholson, and has also slowed down over the years.)
Radhika Nair (Unfortunately, Radhika also seems to be slowing down quite rapidly, even post-Burberry.)
Rose Daniels (She doesn’t book very much outside of Gucci these days, also having slowed down.)
Une Jonynaite (Also slowing down quite rapidly.)
Unsure:
Aaliyah Hydes (She doesn’t book many top-tier shows these days, but her rate of work hasn’t slowed down since the beginning of her career. Either take her off Hot List or put her on Top 50.)
Clementine Balcaen (? Wouldn’t mind her kept on the Hot List, but she can’t stay there forever. Her LV exclusivity limits her from doing much work outside of the brand, and, therefore, has kept her in a very compact bubble... but a pretty significant one.)
Eniola Abioro (Her career, sadly, has also slowed over the years... she still books decently large jobs but not at a constant rate like before.)
Erika Linder (She still books major jobs, but is she the right fit for Top 50? She hasn’t branched out much since her LV exclusivity ended, apart from her affiliation with Chanel. I’d keep her on the Hot List for now, but move her somewhere eventually.)
Fatou Jobe (Similar situation as Aaliyah Hydes.)
Hannah Ferguson (An established commercial model, it seems her run as a crossover with HF bookings to her name has, sadly, quite shortly ended.)
Jamily Wernke Meurer (I could equally understand the reasoning behind putting her on Top 50 and removing her from the Hot List. Although not at the peak of her career anymore, she’s still booking quite well.)
Kaila Wyatt (Similar situation as Jamily, albeit for a shorter time period.)
Lila Moss (She books big, yes, and is Kate Moss’ daughter, yes, but will it become another Kesewa Aboah situation eventually, or will she continue rising up?)
Mads Mullins (She works heavily with YSL, but outside of the brand, isn’t quite notable.)
Mariam de Vinzelle (Similar situation to Clementine.)
Maud Hoevelaken (She still books well, but is starting to slow down...)
Naomi Chin Wing (Similar situation to Maud.)
Oudey Egone (Similar situation to Clementine and Mariam.)
Simona Kust (Similar situation to Mads Mullins, although she works with YSL even less these days.)
Unia Pakhomova (Although the only top brand she works with these days is Gucci, she’s still booking quite a lot.)
Move to Top 50:
Chunjie Liu (IMO, Chunjie’s established herself enough for Top 50. Sure, she’s not quite the household name here on tFS, but one look at her catalog of bookings and she’s got it.)
Cyrielle Lalande (I think she’s ready for Top 50 as well. Consistently one of the top catwalkers with mounds of top shows to her name, along with one of the top-booked models during the recent digital showcase.)
Halima Aden (Besides making history as the first Hijabi model, therefore being the ripple that started the wave of Ugbad, Ikram Abdi, & Amina Adan’s success, among many others, Halima’s merged into mainstream success on her own quite seamlessly.)
Jiali Zhao (Despite being heavily affiliated with Dior, Jiali has quite large bookings outside of the brand and works often with Chinese fashion publications.)
Jill Kortleve (Although she booked her first McQueen show less than two years ago, her rise towards success has been extremely rapid since then, and understandably so. She’s already got 2 out of the Big 4 completed, and still works with McQueen today.)
Maike Inga (Outside of Prada, Maike’s doing amazingly well, and seemingly books more and more every season.)
Manuela Sanchez (She books quite well and hasn’t slowed down despite not working with YSL anymore.)
Sarah Dahl (After an inactive season, she came back to the runway like nothing happened & booked all the top shows she did a year prior. Such a smooth comeback cemented her career.)
Tang He (Tang’s been everywhere the past couple of years, and has established herself enough to the point where I’d be happy to see her on Top 50. She works heavily with Miu Miu but books incredibly outside of the brand.)
Wouldn’t be mad at MDC also moving Janaye Furman, Kerolyn Soares, Meghan Roche and Nina Marker to Top 50 soon.
