I mean Lara has Miuccia as much as any other model does atm (excluding Ymre) and print work counts for much more than runway. You would expect runway to lead to print. Lara has virtually no runway and lots of great print work (in terms of profile not necessarily quality) and Vlada over the last 4 years or so has insane amounts of runway and comparatively no print work.

I do still think Anna J will suffer greatly when Meisel dumps her. A top model needs someone fighting their corner

I think Lara closed Prada at least once. And I agree Gambit about Anna J posibly suffering down the line. Look at Cat Mcneil, in the begining she had V, VP and a couple of Numero covers, plus campaigns like Versace and now look at her, no photogs are that interested in her anymore, the same could happen to Anna.

The person I can't picture at no1 is Natasha. For me, she's completely lost her momentum and I dont see what else she could do. She also seems to have lost Carine's support (for the most part anyway)

I think Raquel is fine at #1, I don't really think she needs to move to Icons.. but if for some reason MDC felt compelled to do so, recent events have made Lara the candidate for that top spot.

Lara closed Prada Spring 08, she still walks Prada which amusing compared to most of the other girls who walk it. I disagree about Lara having no runway, she's no Vlada, Lily, or Natasha but she gets her fair share of runway.

I think it might really be Lara. this is her year!!! even though both her and Natasha have been around for a long time, when Natasha burst onto the scene and she was everywhere, she never got to be number 1 because of other bigger models. but now, the hype has died around her, this campiagn season says it all!
as for Lara, her beginning wasn't as big as Natasha, but now she is making her mark, and it seems that everyone wants her...because she represents something different!!! Her momentum is building, while Natashas is declining...

I stand corrected, Lara did 15 very good shows last fashion week, though I feel as though she only does them to keep herself in people's minds; not that she actually wants to do it.

I think i've already said, but yes I agree that Raquel should stay at number one, though she might be moved. The one thing that will save Natasha now is some sort of prominent cosmetics contract, possibly snatch Shiseido (sp?) from Raquel????

Also Lara continually walking for Prada (amongst the sea of seemingly bland young girls) is an indication that Miuccia is still very keen on her.

Lara can pick and choose the shows she wants to do which is a good indication of how much star power she has, why does Raquel do so many shows?

Could Anna be pushing Raquel very hard, but not everyone else is convinced of her? Though Raquel is huge in most senses, she doesn't seem to get many covers.

ummm this is raquel zimmerman we are talking about , why would clients keep booking her if they werent covinced of her and you should check her amount of editorials/covers!

^Yes but usually a top model gets the cover and editorials inside. Raquels eds vastly outnumber her covers.

About Anna and Raquel, I just meant that it appears that Raquel seems to feel she has to prove something with all the runway (not a lot, but it is for someone of her status). So I was thinking maybe not all are convinced of her / that she is always a must book. but yes modela i am well aware of her position in the industry, just venturing some plausible thoughts.

Did MDC say when they were going to move raquel to the iconslist/place the new number one??

Im not sure tbh. But it seems that mdc feels the need shift people when it isn't necessary-just to move things along. How long has she been at no.1? If Natasha scores Sept VI as some have speculated, that could push her to no1 (amongst her other work too)

IMO, for the male models, Baptiste doesn't deserve 1. Karl just keeps him to himself and I wouldn't consider someone who works for just one person to be the top male model. Karl obviously has a lot of people, which has influenced the models site, but still..

Sean Opry should be 1, He's been getting handfuls of editorials for 2 years, he's walked for countless household names, and no one will ever have a face like his.

Sean O'Pry is ranked too high as it is. I don't know if I'd put him in the top five.

^ Really? Who would you have higher? Remember (as with the women's list) work and reputation over their whole career is counted towards their position.

Coco, Anja, and Stam all appear to have been juggled: Coco shifted down to 6th, bumping stam to 5th and anja to 4th.

They moved Monika Jagaciak up two spots. How silly! And this coming from a guy who thinks she's the beauty of our times, and maybe of ALL times. Let's see her actually start to really work first.

Chanel Iman was moved down finally, but not near low enough. Anna S. was moved down, which is silly. Heidi Mount was moved up, also silly. Toni Garrn was also moved down.

its very very random , but caroline , catherine and coco arent top ten material anymore ,although caroline has build up a longevity in jumping throught the pages of US VOGUE.im suprised to see sigrid still so low if you compare her resume with an abbey lee.

Jamie Bochart is now added to the list... because of Gucci campaign (plus some runway work this season) I suppose.
I think Natasa Vojnovic deserves some spot on the list, or maybe even icon list.. I mean, Marc Jacobs campaign, some print works in i-D, a bit of runway this season... She's been around forever and still gets big things!

Well, that makes it even easier since he's only been modeling 2.5 years. Above him, I'd put

Danny Schwarz - Most wanted male model in the world this very moment. The kid books campaigns like his name is Raquel. He's #1, and it's not even a close race.

Noah Mills - 4 campaigns this season, dominated Milan fashion week. Been in the game longer than Sean and still works more. Probably should be #1 on the icons list though.

Jon Kortajarena - Books more campaigns than Opry, been modeling longer. Long lasting relationship with important clients.

Baptiste Giabiconi - Only works for Karl, yes it's true. But that doesn't change the fact it's a far more impressive year than Sean has ever had.

Garrett Neff - How many guys can say they have a contract? Not to mention, it's a contract with the biggest starmaker in men's modeling. He also kills Sean when it comes to runway bookings.

That alone is enough to knock him out of the top five, and I wasn't even finished. I could have made the case for about 3 or 4 more guys to go ahead of him. Sean, I think is a slightly bigger name than these guys, but that point is moot because absolutely no male model is anywhere close to a household name.
