MDC (Models.com) Rankings

I doubt there is any accurate ranking system, they do evaluate different girls differently I believe:| Chanel, Sessilee and Liu Wen are ranked too high if we are using the general system of ranking every body equally, the fact that they are ranked at that point probably because they broke the boundaries/barriers of the industry that make them deserves to be in such high spot. Miranda might be ground breaking in some sort of terms, starting from commercial then into HF is a rare thing to see in a model's career :)

Latest updates in women`s rank

Caroline Trentini moved down to 21
Miranda Kerr moved up to 15

WHOA. Isn't that a bit too much for someone who is yet to have a Vogue cover? 21 was pretty OK but this is all just one season and her campaigns aren't OG anyway or something that merits the rank.. :ermm: anyway, just my two cents.

if anything mdc hypes girls into oblivion. well see if miranda can keep up her run into SS11, i highly doubt it but i think she deserves the 15th position for now.

While I do not like Miranda at all, I will admit that she shows NO signs of slowing down, this HF thing doesn't seem to just be a stint, like it might be for the other VS girls. I think her HF career will last quite a while.

I believe that the models.com administrators are under pressure from the different agencies to keep high placements for "fallen" girls.

I just can't let go of the Ranya Mordanova case. She's currently placed at #31. The girl has had 1 major multi girl campaign (Givenchy FW0910) and limited exposure in the major magazine (1 multi girl editorial by Meisel for Vogue Italia (40 girls in all), 1 multi girl editorial by Inez and Vinoodh for Vogue Paris (1 photo), 1 multi girl editorial by McDean for W, a couple of editorials by minor photographers for Vogue Russia and a few other appearances for Dazed and Confused, POP, Love, Another, V, etc. Most of her work is over 6 months old. She has a very weak FW09/10 runway season. She is currently placed in Tokyo, Japan.

Can someone please explain to me how models.com can warrant a placement at #31 for this girl? I'll be very thankful. :flower:

Ann kenny needs to be ranked
I mean shes shot Proenza Schoular, Marc Jacobs, and benetton
and has had edits in interveiw and dazed and confused + more comming up...

wait a bit..who can be sure that she won't disappear after two seasons, like Karolin, Katrin, Ranya and so on..I love Ann, but if the new model got a few blue-chips campaigns, it doesn't mean her long-term success.

^That isn't really the point, and besides all of those girls you named have been on the top 50 before lol

models.com's list is just soo subjective

Yes, they were, but very quickly they were removed ... In my opinion, they change the list too fast, always after fashion's weeks the list increases about ten new girls, which only 3-4 are still working very well after a year or two..So they should focus on the girl career to see how many she gets works through the year and maybe just then to add her to the list. But, how I have said, this is only my opinion, and it doesn't change anything.

Actually Ranya remains on the list :ninja: I get your point though, i just don't think models.com should rank the top models list based on longevity since they already have an icons list

I love Luke, but he's more of a 'celebrity' now isn't he?

And it's sad that Danny has fallen so quickly ever since his debut season [i believe he was top 20 what with all the campaigns in his 1st season]. I guess missing fashion weeks and not doing as many editorials does takes its toll.

But I think we all agree that she should be eliminated..well, we will see, which new girls still will be in the list after a year..still a lot of time..:)

I think Ann deserves a spot on the top 50, I think MDC might just be waiting to see how she is received this coming show season? But she has the Proenza campaign, Marc Jacobs (although you can't really see her that well) and editorials. I think #45-50 is a right spot for her, and if she disappears in 1-2 seasons then so be it, its an evolving list afterall..

I mean even barbara palvin and julia hafstrom are listed , while ann is doing better

well there was some movement today...

Lisanne down to 44 (she is gonna be out pretty soon if she doesn't do well ss11)
Meaghan up to 37 (balenciaga, moschino cheap&chic)
Tati up to 33 (valentino, proenza)

I agree with whoever said Ann Kenny needs to be added to the list

why not move Kendra down to 50 and add her in at 49?
