of course models.com is the major model website that there is.
that why sometime make me mad.how inaccurate it is.
poor river he is not even in the list

^yeah poor River:(, maybe he didn't get a job because of this,... I can imagine this scene:"when you're listed on models.com, you can introduce yourself in this casting. Mr. nobody. get your a** out of here"....just Kidding

seriously, I think he deserves a spot on that list.-_-

Is a big accomplishment for Daniela De Jesus to be on the Money Girls.
Having the agency she has, not being a "hf" girl, not having walked major shows... etc. Now that's Sessilee is out of Major, Daniela is their star.

Personally I think MDC do a decent job with their rankings, it is a pretty fair reflection of who is doing well, who is coming up and who is fading.

There will always be gripes about who should be where and whatever, but that is often to do with someone's favourite not being where they think they should be ranked.

MDC are a fine site, with a great archive and the folks there know what they are talking about. I don't think any site who compiles this kind of list will always get it right and folks will always beg to differ.

Personally I'd like to thank all the staff there for all their insights and for compiling the list, which I'm sure is a major benefit to visitors there, who might not follow fashion and models as closely as we members here do.

i think thats what river try to said. that people that check the list must be like "'ohh well this are the top 50 models''.but then he is not even in the list.so he must feel let down or i dont know maybe something happen, for him to come out and said what he said.

c'mon there must be really some preference to a model in that list.
jamie, cat and they remove caroline t,vlada, sneja all of them for me are kind of in the same level,so if u gonna remove one remove all of them.

and ps i like ur new avatar ;)

also -- whether or not you consider JPG, Max Mara or Bottega Veneta "blue chip", part of what makes KK an iconic model is her ability to marry high fashion campaigns (and in the past, she has done plenty of campaigns for Dior, Chanel, Valentino, etc) with big MONEY campaigns that get exposure everywhere. (see her current Mercedes Benz ad and the upcoming John Frieda international print/televison ads). not to mention that most-desirable and profitable of campaigns -- the multi-year VS Angel contract.

as of this moment i would not consider kk as an icon. to be considered as icon in my definition, models must be consistent season after seasons with campaigns, covers, and eds. i dont see kk possess that at all. she was big at the start of her career, then a huge contract with victoria's secret then nothing memorable after that. this season she scores a few campaigns but nothing major. i would careless if she models for mercedes benz since we are talking about high fashion here(adriana and heidi score a lot of huge contracts but i dont think they are considered as icons).

kk performs very poorly when it comes to vogue over the past few years. i could be wrong but someone can point out my mistake with kk number of vogue covers and eds over the past 5 years.

looking as icon list, every model on that list is better fit the definition of an icon than kk bc of consistency with their campaigns, major covers, and eds over the past few years.

im sure kk can be considered as an icon as long as she scores more prestigious covers, eds and campaigns.

^ If the criteria you itemized was used then several of the models on the icon list would be dropped. It is to be expected that the models on the icon list would be inactive / low profile for periods of time because they are having children, locked up in exclusive contracts and / or pursuing other interests.

My two cents is that once an icon, always an icon, it's really more of a matter of whether or not your rank is high enough to be profiled on MDC's website.

Mercedes-Benz is relevant to fashion in that they sponsor fashion weeks in multiple cities.

what? are you freakin serious isn't THAT big?

Getting an Hermes campaign isn't as good as getting Gucci, Givenchy, Balenciaga, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Valentino, etc. etc. It's big but it's not worth someone getting bumped up to #20.

YaY for Saskia :woot:, cant wait to see Juju next
who got removed to fill in the position for Saskia rankings ?

yes, kinda high... Daphne used to be #30, but now she shares #27 with Tati... so yeah.

^

Saskia's debut was fair enough
Hailey debuted with not so good prospects

she'll get more campaigns this season for sure
and she has a Vogue Paris Cover coming up

yeah but i mean, even with the coming season n the cover.
i dont think she match all the campaigns, covers, editorals, runway that the other models have done for years.even chanel iman should be higher then her.
