Did an on-set outburst cost Megan Fox her role in "Transformers 3" -- or did director Michael Bay's ego drive her out? When Fox's option for the third install ment of the series wasn't picked up, it was no surprise. Last September, Fox told Wonderland magazine's Marshall Hey man that Bay was "like Hitler on his sets." But an insider tells Page Six there's more to the story. "Bay was on record saying she would be in the film even after she made those comments," our source says. But, "She also got into an argument with a DP [director of photography] while doing some preliminary work in Los Angeles earlier in May, which pushed things over the edge."
But another source counters, "She made the decision not to do the project on Tuesday -- Bay's just trying to spin it. He hated that she wasn't afraid of him. This movie isn't 'War and Peace.' " Bay's rep didn't respond to requests for com ment. Fox's rep would say only, "Megan left the project on her own accord."
