Am just wondering if anyone has any pictures from Memoirs of a Geisha. I dont fancy seeing the movie, but need to see the pictures as I know the impact on fashion is very important.
Anyone know where I could download these?

^I was wondering too! Right on the time when i recently re-watched this  Hmm i remember she was send to a non-geisha place (i'm not sure precisely which one) unlike her sister Sayuri. So i think she ended up being something else but not a geisha.

^ she worked as a prostitute but later it's revealed that she ran off with the son of Mr Tanaka's assistant in Mr Tanaka's letter to Chiyo. After that, I heard no more of Satsu.

^ nice gif.

I  this movie. the costumes and set are all so pretty. Gong Li is gorgeous!
I'm really interested in actually reading the book as well.

This thread just prompted me to rewatch this beautiful film! While storyline and actors background can deter some people there's no denying how visually stunning it is! I read the book years ago, might read it again as well. From what I remember it was a fairly easy read and not hard to get into.

The book is incredible. Dense, but so beautifully written you just get completely caught up in it. I think I read like half the book really fast, then I slowed down because I didn't want to end. It's one of my favorites to this day, actually. The film, however, while beautiful--cinematography, costumes, score, art direction, etc.--pales in comparison. The actresses' backgrounds definitely distracted and took me out of the film, despite very measured performances from Michelle Yeoh and Ken Watanabe. Gong Li and Ziyi were not good enough to take my mind off the film's discrepancy.
