Men In Skirts

The Gareth Pugh FW10 (shown w/ the womenswear collection) isn't a skirt..just loose pants. If it were a skirt, it'd still look equally as good on a man (well, the right man..) as it would on a woman.

BTW, I'm looking out for the H&M one here in Boston..One of the stores carries a mid-calf version from CdG for about $800, but I think it'll be a waste to spend top dollars for something I know I'd only wear a few times, so cheap H&M rip-off it shall be.

Agreed about the Pugh. The H&M is part of a line called "men's trend". It's not stocked at all in Chicago. We have the midwest flagship. Maybe it'd be in Boston, but hopefully knowing the portion of the collection will help.

No, I tried the Boston store: no luck..I posted a msg in the Boston Shopping thread asking if any other tfs'ers can keep an eye out for it and let me know, but I'll keep trying regardless.

Yeah, it's a valid concern. I wouldn't want to see any man-parts dangling exposed either.

I understand going commando when wearing trousers, but with skirts or open bottoms, I'd appreciate taking the extra time to secure the privates. Thanks!

It doesnt really bother me, if a man is wearing a kilt. I think if Marc Jacobs can wear one, then why can't other guys? I respect their choice to wear one or not, it is a fashion choice after all.

I respect men who do wear these skirts because I am a big fan of people breaking the norm. However I will leave that to them as it is not my style.

I blogged about a number of things, including men in skirts. Fashion is an art. You are your own masterpiece. Why not go with a skirt? I sometimes still imagine if I had a long and comfortable jean skirt to wear along with my outfits. If I was feeling a bit more confident and fashionable, I'd even question going with a skirt just above the ankles along with some feminine heels or other feminine shoes. I know this may never happen, but I'd be very interested to see what if skirts were better accepted in casual male fashion rather than people constantly thinking only femmes should wear skirts. Some homme has to really be of inspiration to proudly wear a skirt and feel comfortable and fabulous for lots of other guys to wear such skirts.

Korn - London Astoria 2020

The first great impression of mens skirt was at the Korn gig at London Astoria, he was wearing a great black denim, crossed in black long skirt. It was exactly what I would die for!!!

I'd wear a skirt the Givenchy way, and wear black tights underneath, I think it sort of masculates the whole look.
