Mia Wasikowska

Maybe this will sound mean, but why does she have so many fine lines and wrinkles? She's only 22! You can really notice them in the premiere photos. Younger people these days seem to age much more quickly or something....

Thank you so much for those pics :flower: She looks and sounds absolutely lovely  I love how she looks in the McQueen gown

oh, that's a lovely spread. i like it a lot. my fave is the one where she's running.

Stunning spread! She seems to be channeling a mix of Annie Hall/Emma Thompson a la "The Remains of the Day." Whatever the case, I love it. Her poise, at only 22, is just enviable.

There is something so effortless about that spread and all her spreads. Every photo is so elegant but I really love the one of her in the McQ dress. She also sounds so normal.

^^^I know. She's like a born model. I don't know if she's a natural clotheshorse, or if it's poise, confidence, or what. But I love all her spreads. My favorite is the "Harper's Bazaar Australia" spread when Jane Eyre was coming out. But this is a close second.

wouldn't say so myself, she looks youthful to me. however people age differently. she has fair skin and it ages on average faster than naturally tan skin. also, since actors have to portray many faces on camera, they probably get wrinkles faster??? since they mimic a lot of faces.

Mia looks so pretty in that Vogue editorial. I love they way she was styled and I love the way she comes across in the interview. Very down-to-earth and normal. Thanks for sharing it with us. :flower:

So excited. She's been getting good reviews for 'Lawless'. Emma Bovary is one of my favorite literary 'heroines', but I have high hopes for her. Hopefully, it'll be good! :flower:

When Tim Burton cast Mia Wasikowska in Alice in Wonderland, he capitalized on her unique combination of vulnerability and inner fortitude. *Wasikowska has the depth and range of a classic heroine: Her characters always see their way out of dark situations, and like many women who came of age in the eighties, Wasikowska has great reserves of strength at the ready. She is loud in a quiet way.

What is your favorite film from the eighties?
I love The Shining—especially the little kid, when he’s on his tricycle riding through the mansion. After I saw the movie, I Googled him to check on how he turned out in life. He’s thriving—I was relieved that he’s normal. And Crocodile Dundee is nostalgic for me. I’m from Australia, and I remember watching it when I was young. It was a world I knew.

What personality is most evocative of the decade to you?
Madonna. She’s the icon. She’s wholly her own person.

What’s your least favorite trend from that era?
I don’t like scrunchies—those hair bands. And in general, I don’t do big eighties hair—but my Alice in Alice in Wonderland had lots of big hair. I was kind of an eighties Alice.
