synecdoche, new york and the movie wendy and lucy at CANNES
Another Cannes Film Festival, another Portland movie. Last year, it was Gus Van Sant's Paranoid Park premiering on the French Riviera; this year, Variety reports, it will be Kelly Reichardt's follow-up to Old Joy, a drama starring Michelle Williams called Wendy and Lucy.
Reichardt's film is one of 19 movies selected for the Un Certain Regard side program at the French fest, which runs May 14-25.
Wendy and Lucy is a new title for the project that until now has been known as Train Choir. It was shot last year at several Portland locations, including the parking lot of a Walgreens on North Lombard, and it is about a woman whose life falls apart after she loses her dog. We're guessing Williams plays Wendy and the dog is Lucy, though this supposition has yet to be confirmed.

Her face is just flawless, but I'm not a fan of her body... in her black dress she looked like a little girl who stole outfit from mom's wardrobe
+ the movie isn't that great at all
