isn't miu miu like marc by MJ? i thought it was the lower end, little more quirky stuff and prada was a bit more exspensive and refined.....now im confused....and that price!?! yikes! i like it, but not that much. it's making me a little fed up with everything in the handbags for fall this year seem to have gone up a lot in their prices!

I am pretty sure Miu Miu is the lower end. That's why I got mixed up on the pricing myself because I always thought the Prada were more in the typical designer price range. But I think "Marc by Marc Jacobs" is the exception to the general rule, isn't it? Usually when designers have their first-name-lower-end, like Michael Kors "Michael" line, but isn't MJ the exception? I thought the Marc line was higher than MJ, no?? Because isn't the Stam from the "Marc" line?

No, Marc Jacobs is the expensive pret-a-porter line, while Marc by Marc Jacobs is the diffusion line.

Similarly, Prada (p-a-p), Miu Miu (diffusion).

No, the Stam bag is a Marc Jacobs bag, not a Marc by Marc Jacobs bag.

I have noticed that the so called affordable lines are now becoming more expensive, especially Marc by MJ and Miu Miu. I like this Miu Miu bag but I think the pricing is just silly - its almost the same price as the prada bags.

I think Miu Miu is attempting to become more of a stand alone line now as opposed to just being the cheaper lil sis of Prada. The clothing has become more refined, the prices have gotten higher and the ad campaigns more ambitious. All in all I think its a good move, Miu Miu has alot to offer.

I still haven't inspected this bag in person but I'm becoming more curious. I do agree though that Prada/Miu Miu has most definitely distributed the bag amongst the celeb and stylist crowd. Good marketing but sometimes I 've got to say that I don't want to see my purse on every two bit starlet

even though marc by marc jacobs is his lower line, i've noticed his last two collections, the prices for his bags have gone up considerably. perhaps the same thing is going on with miu miu. i have always prefered miu miu to prada honestly, as i feel it is a bit more quirky and young (although prada always has beautiful staple pieces)....im glad they are branching out and trying to become more of a brand than a sub-brand, because then i would assume the collections may be a bit larger. the downside is the pricing. have any other miu miu bags gone for this much? i thought generally they were well under $1000

So I saw the bag tonight, in both leather and suede, and even though I think the suede suits it more, the leather is really gorgeous and soft and almost justifies the price tag. It's a great, great bag.

On another note, I saw a different Miu Miu fall bag, sort of like the Prada Gauffre that Victoria Beckham has but in suede, and I'm totally in love. It's also up there, $1475 I think. Is it really foolish to spend that much on a suede bag? The SA told me if the suede rubbed off against my body I could bring the bag bag...

All of the fall Miu Miu bags were really stunning.

that much for suede would definately make me nervous. i would think that eventually it is going to wear and if you are not one to favor the distressed look, then perhaps it isn't a wise choice. personally, i like the vintagy distressed look and thus a pair of prada suede boots i have, have been through hell and back and are all the more beautiful for the wear

I really really like the leather version of this bag...but it's priced really high for a Miu Miu bag...

It's a nice bag, but sigh, seems like everyone's jacking up prices like crazy nowadays.

I went to check out this bag at Mui Mui boutique I must say it's very nice and I like it very much, one thing I noticed though the hardware looks like it will get scratched very easily. Has anyone noticed this?

The ones on display at the boutique I saw all have scratched marks. The hardware looks very similar to the hardware on Chloe' paddington.

What's the quality like for this bag? I've had a look at a few Miu Miu bags and the quality just seems to be... a bit lacking.

Miu Miu is also available on Net a porter, but they don't have that bag - not sure if they're getting it in (I suspect they will?) as they don't have much new season up.

I do agree Miu Miu is more of a stand alone line rather than a diffusion line. Also helps to explain the shows move to Paris

This bag was on USA Today in the Life section yesterday. It was a small little article. The article was saying that this is the new 'it' bag. I really like it a lot. It's a toss up between the suede or leather.

Both the leather and the suede are now up on NAP, and they are also touting it as the 'it' bag for the season. I do like the shape and apparent utility, but there's no way i'm paying that much for a Miu Miu. Even the Miu Miu branding on it is a little tacky IMO, certainly not worth the $.

Saw the brown suede and black leather today at the Neimans in Garden State Plaza...I really like this bag, it's really cute, practical and very unique. If i were a woman Id definately get one...

i am against miu miu all together.
i remember it being such a mid range brand years and years ago. and then slowly they raised prices outside europe blaming it on export duties etc, then suddenly it raised even in europe!!
totally overrated and that bag is too. it might be pretty but i could phisically never pay that much for miu miu no matter what...
