Yes she's Han Chinese, not mixed or Hakka or alien, she says it herself
here (long int but it's evidence. if it doesnt load, right click, play/pause)....she's from the southern tip of Guangzhou province. And since someone asked, here is the story i read about her...
Once upon a time.. no i'll just summarize. basically the reason she decided to go into modeling was because her leg was injured doing high-jump, as she was trained as a track-n-field athlete from a young age by her career-athlete father. she could no longer do high caliber sports so her friends suggested she try modeling. they entered her in the ModelStar contest and she won, moving to Beijing shortly after. as some of you can hear she has an odd hybrid southern+northern accent (sounds awesome), so when she first moved into the city she was always ripped off by taxi drivers due to her accent. she was also allergic to the pollution in the air & developed skin rashes. things weren't smooth at first. she was 17 then, making it on her own in Beijing, and it was then that her father died, leaving her to take care of her brother & mom who has health problems. This is a big change because she did not come from a wealthy family (basically, she was 'PO), as a kid she loved music but family could not afford a sound system, so she 'borrowed' the echo passing from nextdoor neighbor's KTV set & sang along that way. <3
But now she's one of the top models in China obviously due to a good combination of looks personality & talent. something happened in between i don't know what.
