Model Casting F/W 2019.20

We're putting an awful lot weight on missing a pre-fall fall show don't you think?

These menswear and random prefall shows have some interesting moments.

Kaia at Alyx and opening Sacai was random imo.

Hilary Rhoda closing Hermès was a nice surprise.

wasn't she in their FW 18 Campaign?

Kaia has walked for Sacai's womenswear show before too.

Taylor Hill at Schiaparelli was quite random. Think it's her first time walking for the brand?

I think Liu Wen and Blesnya there is even more random (given the irrelevance of the rest of the cast and show overrall).

Liu Wen also (randomly) walked Schiaparelli last year, so who knows what connection she has to the brand.

Schiaperelli is styled by Katie Grand so that's likely the main reason. Also explains the heavily pregnant Erin O'Connor in the closing look.

Thank god someone else has said it ^ I was coming on here to say how shockingly disappointed I was to see such a whitewashed Chanel cast again. Pre-Fall was great for diversity but maybe that's just because of the Egyptian theme, which would be SO messed up. Apple, I feel the same, it was genuinely distractingly white. And the clothes were so light as well, they stood out so much better on the (four) darker girls. FOUR!?

I agree that it's strange that Chanel didn't include Hoyeon and Yoounyoung, and that there was too little diversity. But what exactly is bizarre about loyalty? I don't get that. For me, it is a nice thing to see certain models time and time again at Chanel that don't walk that much any longer in other shows.

Backstage at Valentino, Naomi, Kaia, Adut, the Dominican clan (Lineisy, Licett, Hiandra, Elibeidy, Anyelina, Manuela), Anok, Kris, Rebecca, Sara Grace, Fran...

Shut it down! Valentino was perfect. This is how you do it.

Pierpaolo has nothing new to say so playing casting games
Who is next? von Lehndorff or the whole 60th gang for another 60th temed show?

Sorry, poor wording on my part. I actually love when designers/CDs are loyal to their models. I just don't understand when the loyalty doesn't extend to campaign stars. Both Hoyeon and Yoonyoung are walking in Paris, so their absence is what's bizarre.

Valentino was sublime. Adut is killing it.

"Playing casting games", I feel like you're suggesting that having a predominately black cast is "playing a game"? Pierpaolo has plenty still to say, but models are an important part of a show/collection, and I think they're a part of what he's "saying". It's like you're suggesting it's a gimmick or something?
