Besides Ruby I wasnt into the MJ cast. Theory however, what a fine selection of fresh faces. love!

so far I'm a bit disappointed by it all...yeah there are some interesting faces but they all are bland and lifeless....I keep my hopes up for prada.

Because that's the current trend. You won't see much different at Prada. It seems that Ashley is establishing a look for Prada and if Resort 2013 was an indication for what's to come, than I wouldn't expect frivolous faces like for example Kelly Mittendorf.
I think we are going to see clean and simple faces, perhaps also known as the blank canvas look. I personally love it.

I'm assuming Ruby Jean was an MJ exclusive since Nicole Miller was raving about her and then she was not in her show.

Jacobs came across as very pretentious to me. This kind of 'look at me, I'm so cool and ahead of the curve' anti-power casting always has that effect though. Presumably RJ Wilson and Valerija Sestic dyed their hair for the show? Very Balenciaga S/S 2011 and another gimmicky move .

One black model for an MJ show is a new low for him as well, first time since Sonja Wanda was the only one cast in S/S 2006. At least it was Grace though, who fit the show.

Ruby Jean was absolutely perfect opening and closing the show, she really set the mood and fitted the theme of the show so well.

So agree, amazing attitude for this show. I loved the casting too, so far would be my favourite one.

Casting at Rodarte was fantastic!
Usually they have a lot of leftovers, but now they got Stammy opening, Iselin, Aymeline, Kinga, Stef, Karlie, Querelle, and Elza closing, and not just flavours of the month.

What? When was the last time Rodarde had a lot of 'leftovers?' They've been one of the hip/it shows in NY for a few years now. I actually thought their cast was sort of meh, compare to their usual. Aside from Stam and Iselin, it was a typical NY cast. I wonder if there were a conflict with Vera Wang since a lot of top girls were there and I don't think anybody was at both.

^Okay so I looked up Rodarte's casting from last season: http://forums.thefashionspot.com/showpost.php?p=10313099&postcount=228
And actually there are quite a few fillers. IIRC they also had a conflict (can't remember what show) but if you look at the Rodarte casting, it does appear like they got the worst of it (unless it's their casting strategy).
I'm not saying their casts are bad, but they usually don't have a lot of star power, at least not as much as this season.

i was so excited about katrin thormann's and catherine mc neil's comebacks, but somehow they ended up doing just one single mediocre show. i can't believe nobody else wants to book them!

^Probably due to her hair.... shame. Anna Wintour said she liked it, but the designers/cd's apparently not.

Her hair worked well for winter but it was obvious that is too strong for spring.
