I remember a magazine editorial with kate bosworth, if I'm not mistaken. She had a cool hairstyle, something close to what I have in mind... I'm going to do a search!

my friends used to have hawks, they used Pomade, and if your a dirty poor gutter punk just use glue

IMO it only works on girls if their hair is short and if its a scene hawk, like shannon sossamon or something.

I remember, when I started off at my high school (at arts one, by the way), in grade nine, one of the older girls had one... Shaved head and the works. I must admit though, that I've honestly never liked them on girls for some reason. I think that guys generally tend to look awesome with them (if it suits, naturally), but for some reason, I don't like them on females as a look... It's not that they're overly masculine either, since I think that short hair can look quite fantastic on certain females. Somehow though, I personally find that it just doesn't suit.

spooky girl.....thats most likely a hair piece in the photo you posted....but i have done this look and i have long hair....

i curled my hair in ringlets so it got very big and poofy. then i made 3 pony tails starting a bit above my ears all the way down. i flipped up the first pony tail securing it on top of my head with pins, then the second pony tail then the third...sinse my hair was curled it was the perfect length, enough to have a little height, but not too much , where the hair wouldnt stay. after i used combs on each side of the { mohawk ) which secred it a little more. i hope that made sense :eek: anyway buy alot of bobby pins, barettes, and combs, its a b*tch but it looks cool and you will recieve all the attention......

Full on mohawks? Well, I can't say I like them on girls but it's probably more about the statement than the aesthetics (or atleast my idea of something aesthetically pleasing)!?

It was exactly this looking I was talking about... I didn't know the name - "faux" hawks - I don't like the shaved hair part either! Well, at least on women...

I have a mohawk now, I think they are cool. Mine is short though,If you have long hair I would suggest braids, braid the sides up and tease the middle for a little height. I think its cute

Couture_Whore -- those pics are amazing! Arrrgh, I'm supposed to decry hipsters in general, but can you really fault a fashion movement that rallies around good hair? Shane the hairdresser from 'the L word' rocks a faux hawk on occasion.. at least this season. it's pretty minimalist and tame compared to the pics previously posted.

yeah, on women, I prefer the faux hawks too!
but guys look HOT with real mohawks! I LOVE guys with mohawks...
