Now I just know there have to be fans on the forum.... :buzz:

Favourite skit? Favourite film? Favourite Python?

I love, love, love Holy Grail. That movie is one of my all-time favourites

Really my favourite thing to see in Monty Python is the costumes (and also the set, even if they are outside). I thought they all look so nice with the long hairstyles, but my favourite one is Graham Chapman. Michael Palin is second. :flower:

I like it when they dress as girls. Eric Idle makes a very good lady!
The animations are also so cool

Unfortunately I don't really laugh when I watch the show... maybe that's just me. I laugh more at Last of the Summer Wine or As Time Goes by and even Mr. Bean... when talking about English comedy.

Holy Grail and Life of Brian has to be the two funniest film there ever was! I can´t count the times I´ve seen either one and I never grow tired of them.
The Killer Rabbit from Holy Grail is my absoute favourite, I had a friend who had managed to get an old promo for the movie which was a cute stuffed bunny who had enormous fangs when you opened its mouth :) I was so jealous..

Kind Arthur and his knights

Did anyone see the special on th Pythons hosted by Eddie Izzard a few years back? They, amongst other things, mentioned the alternative names for the show that had been discussed , one had been Owl Stretching Time :)

Yep, the Holy Grail is one of my faves too. But my ultimate favourite sketch has to be the Four Yorkshiremen.

No-one expects the Spanish inquisition!!!!
muahhahhaahhhaaa!
:p:innocent:

My favourite sketch is the Dead Parrot sketch, I´ve seen so many times now but I just never grow tired of it. The Fish-slapping Dance is also great :)
My fave python is Michael Palin, such a cutie :)

Orchide posted a clip from Monty Python on my MySpace, of the 'Ministry of Funny Walks' - that is another favourite sketch

Oh yes, I have that on my computer, that and the Dirty Hungarian Phrasebook sktech :) All I have to do when I´m having a bad day to feel better is sing songs from Holy Grail or Life of Brian :)

I haven't that much Monty Python, only the odd sketches. .
My fav's from what I have seen are the Dead Parrot sketches and the funny walk.
I wish they would repeat them all actually!

^Do you mean the ministry of silly walking, it's so funny!

I adore and admire Monty Python, I think they are/were the best comedians. I like the sketches over films, but my favourite film is probably Life of Brian.

I don't have a favourite python or a sketch, but some of the good ones (are there bad ones...) that pop into my mind right now are " How to buy an ant from a department store " and " The Golden Age of Hot Air Ballooning" (or something like that).

Yup!! Didn't Jon Cleese just have to have a hip replacement or something as a result!?

I love monthy python!!

The holy grail and the parrot sketch is some of my favs, but there is so many really!

King Arthur: I am your king.
Woman: Well I didn't vote for you.
King Arthur: You don't vote for kings.
Woman: Well how'd you become king then?
[Angelic music plays... ]
King Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. THAT is why I am your king.
Dennis: [interrupting] Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

I've only watched Holy Grail and Meaning of Life..

They are great.
"Find the fish!"

John Cleese is one of the best comedians, imo. Fawlty Towers rules.

   Monty Python!

The lumberjack song is one of my fav sketches:

He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

I cut down trees, I wear high heels
Suspenders and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie, just like my dear papa!!

I love Monty Python!!

i went to michael palin's book signing once and they said there were too many people so they wouldn't let me in :( shame, as i'm a big fan of his travel work. i did get a wave from him though so it was ok.. python geek, moi?

God: Every time I try to talk to someone it's "sorry this" and "forgive me that" and "I'm not worthy"...

........................

French Soldier: You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, you sons of a silly person. I blow my nose at you, so-called "Arthur King," you and all your silly English K-***-hts.

.........................

Customer: "VOOM"? Mate, this bird wouldn't "voom" if you put four million volts through it! 'E's bleedin' demised!
Owner: No no! 'E's pining!
Customer: 'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible! THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!

one of my favourites is the milkmen/funniest joke in the world sketch.
