Yes, I was just looking at my statements about Chalayan, and while I still don't like him, I can honestly admit that my words were poorly chosen.
Also, he has evolved in recent years, and his last few collections are far better than anything he was doing in the earlier 2000's and I can certainly aknowledge his growth as a designer rather than a philosopher.
However, I do stand by my feelings that he was too avant garde for my tastes. When the message a designer is injecting into the collection completely overshadows the clothes, there's a problem. And that stands for any designer, not just Chalayan. It just so happens that I've never actually heard an interview with any others where they're spewing out this whole theory behind the presentation and whatnot and I feel completely lost. Like I said, this goes for any designer.
I have to jump onto the Karl Lagerfeld bandwagon cause, genius or not, the man's a tool.
