Most promising newcomer F/W 06

Thought it's be interesting to get everyone's opinion on who they think has the most promise for a major career from Style's top 10 new faces of F/W 06.
Here are the choices:

1. Anna Mariya Urazhevskaya & 2. Behati Prinsloo

3. Bette Franke & 4. Coco Rocha

5. Du Juan & 6. Flavia de Oliveira

7. Irina Lazareanu & 8. Leah de Wavrin

9. Mariya Markina & 10. Rachel Alexander

I think Bette, Anna, Irina and Du have the potential to be around for a lot of seasons.

Anna Maria-Since Anna Maria had her Prada start, I can see her running in the model game for a good few years, which in model years is very good. As long as she continues with the pace she is going now, we should be able to see her on the runways and magazines for a while to come.

Behati-I don't think Behati will become a top model, she'll more or less run a career, but never reach the top. Her look isn't versatile enough.

Bette-I can see Bette around for at least a few years as well. She's a very versatile model, with good height too, to keep her around on the runways. Out of most of the girls, she is one of the ones I expect the most from.

Coco Rocha-As long as Meisel is shooting her, she will be in favour. I don't think she will last long if Meisel stops shooting with her as frequently as she is. She only has one look.

Du Juan-Along with Bette, she has the most potential to stay around for a very long time. She has grace and has already been given great campaigns.

Flavia-She may stay around for a while, but I doubt she will ever reach top model status. She's good, but shes not great.

Irina-Flavour of the moment, shes in, shes hip, she's cool, but only for now.

Leah De Wavrin-Not expecting much from her at all. Lacks everything.

Mariya Markina-Look and style isnt wide enough to reach enough brands to give her alot of work. Not versatile enough.

Rachel Alexander-Only as popular as her haircut, if she were to evolve her look, I can see her lasting. She looked good with her long hair and I believe if she were to change her looks she would be able to stay above water

I have a similar feeling as well, but the feeling I have is that she will only go as far as she would want to. If anything stops her career it would be herself. I dont know the girl, but it's only a feeling.

I never got what was so great about Anna-Mariya.. but that French Vogue cover sure caught my eye.. I'm guessing it caught a lot of other people's also, with the timing of that cover I'm expecting her to be BIG for the upcoming season.

Is Irina still new? Maybe its only because last season was her breakout but I think she'll stay around for a while until she gets "tired" of the modelling scene.. I really see her leaving the scene before it leaves her.

Bette.. cute fun fresh. Showing she can handle a more mature look in the Oscar ads, she is versatile enough to stick around for quite a while.

Du Juan.. talk about capatilizing on a moment. This girl is THE new girl for F/W ads.

Those were my votes.

Well, i think it's unfair to include irina in that thing since we all know that, like YBF said, she's the flavour of the month for the main houses.
but because i find the winners bandwagon to be comfortable, i'll vote for her.

I really like her, I think her hipster bangs take some credits off from her but she's a fairly good model and had an interesting, early 20th century look..
if she reinvents herself again, but in a good way, i think she'll overcome her it girl phase and stay in the business longer than predictions tell.

Anyway, being serious, I'm voting for her cause I found the other girls to be so...dull, i think they lack so much in personality, except for coco rocha but agreeing with YBF once again, she seems so hung up in one attitude and one look, which can be tiring.

Anna-Maria, Bette, and Du have the most staying power in my book. Anna-Maria not only booked a lot of campaigns but they turned out well, Bette is good on both runway and adverts, and Du Juan brings not only some needed diversity to the runways, but she can model and the fact that she booked some of the best campaigns (YSL, LV, Cavalli) is a testament to her power.

Mariya I adore, I loved her Jil Sander ad, but it remains to be seen what else she can do. I hope she's versatile.

Coco Rocha I detest. I find her look to be annoying since all her shots are open-mouthed and Balenciaga was a total dud.

Rachel Alexander, she doesn't have an "it" factor to me. I only know of her because of her hair. Nothing else really jumps off the page to me. Nonetheless she'll be around a few seasons.

Irina is the biggest wild card in the book because I can't predict where she'll go but she's good for edgy stuff and I want to see her evolve.

Leah and Flavia don't really do much for me. Sorry.

Behati is so gorgeous, she's one of the prettiest models out there to me, but she isn't getting a ton of work in campaigns. She'd be great for a beauty campaign though, those eyes are amazing.

Well, they're not all new models. My favorite Tanya Dziahileva might as well have been included. She could go really far if she plays her cards right and she's already done so much.

Anyway, I voted for Bette Franke. She looks adorable, but also looks versatile. I can see her having wide appeal. I also Love Du Juan too and think she'll go very far.

I think bette and anna will go far bette has had a amazing season and anna mariya as too and for her first season and she didn't do much runway but got alot of campaigns.
Du is also doing great booked alot of big name campaigns and she cute i think she will keep moving up

Though i feel irina sucess at the moment is that she friends with kate and she a singer i think Karl will uses her alot for runway, eds etc but other designers may move on

I actually have to admit that i really find all these girls so blurred in my mind
I can't seem to remember their faces with their names...
it's not what happened when , for instance, diana d julia s natasha p caroline t., I used to remember those girls (which I love)

but all the new cast I don't know, they all seem so the same, and boring, with nothing special ...
they're all not perfect,
they don't have the freshness of natasha poly, or the sex appeal of Trunfio, or something unique but angelical like Julia, or the power of Daria...

so that's why I can't see any of these reaching any place, maybe they will for the others, but until now they only made me miss the old girls...

I don' t think Irina and Rachel would be considered "hot" right this moment if it wasn't for their haircuts.I think they'll have there moment for the time being and quickly disappear. Same thing with Flavia, who has been around for awhile now.

Du Juan came at the right time and she has what it takes to make it all the way. This season was a huge test for her by booking all those campaigns but she didn' t disappoint. She pulled off her campaigns beautifully but I have yet to see some really good editorials of her!.

I also think Anna Mariya and Bette will make it to the top. Those girls is incredibly versatile. If you take a look at their most recent work and compare it to what they have done a couple of months ago you'll definately notice that they are improving at rapid rate . Coco Rocha, i really don' t know how things will go with her, it' s a tough one to predict but I hope she does well

I think this thread is interesting.. looking at their careers 3 years later.

AMU - Truly beautiful girl, scored a Dsquared2 fragrance campaign, but really she fizzled after SUCH a promising start

Behati - VS Pink, doing quite well for herself.. Supreme's money girl

Bette Franke - Kept up the pace for quite a while, did some good campaigns/eds, but she isn't really around anymore unfortunately

Coco - Supermodel.. well not in the Naomi sense, but she is hands down the break out star in the bunch

Du Juan - Constant work, she broke out BIG though, didn't really live up to the expectations (at least for me), but she is working constantly at least... as you'd expect with a face like hers. I expected her to be a bigger name though internationally.

Flavia - Another surprising money girl. She is doing well.

Irina - dropped off the face of the earth much? I suppose this is what happens when Uncle Karl tired of you? Maybe modeling was just a pit stop for her anyway.

Leah - she did quite well for herself campaign wise for quite a while, but her thread is pretty quiet these days. And with zero votes in the original poll, I guess she at least gets the honor of outliving expectations?

Mariya - beautiful Jil Sander campaign, steady runway appearances, then sadly fizzled out.. one by one her supporters dropped her for newer faces.. Dior.. Versace.. then finally Jil Sander. Maybe she can make a comeback?

Rachel - Sorry I don't really follow her thread, but I don't remember hearing much about her recently. But she is still on Supreme's board which only can be a good thing no?
