Nail Polish

I got blue satin recently. it was a waste of money. its chips constantly, within a few hours of applying it, it chips. also it doesn't look the same color on my nails as it does in the bottle. in the bottle its an obvious navy with a small hint of shimmer. on my nails it just looks black, only in very good light can you see the navy. i wouldn't mind as much if it wasn't so expensive.

I just tried OPI though and its quite nice. no chips and color is exactly as advertised.

 just got Chanel blue satin

i got one the nails on something so it chipped already but so far its holding up, amazing colour

My favourite as of late is OPI's Elephantastic Pink :crush:

Found MAC Blue Sprinkles! Have been wanting to get this forever, and gave up on getting it after I found out it was discontinued/limited edition. Ended up getting 2 bottles, I'm thinking of layering a coat of Blue Sprinkles over one or two coats of Zoya Freja.

Yes, I heard not so great things about Chanel nail polish chipping. I have to say I draw the line at $20+ nail polish, its a bit over-the-top to me (and I used to spend that much on it too) as there are many more lines dedicated to nail polish with better products and colors. Still, love Blue Satin's color.

Next, I'd love to find a some bottles of MAC Rose Topping!^_^

I painted my nails with Blue Satin two days ago and so far, so good. I find the quality to be rather impressive actually, it went on very well.

^^Bergdorf Goodman has the only Paul & Joe counter in the USA. You can call their counter and place an order. The phone# for the counter is on the Paul & Joe Beaute website. If you really can't find it I can look around and find it and PM you. They will ship and are very nice.

thebeautycloset.com sells Paul & Joe but not the whole line, I would just call Bergdorf. That and look on ebay although they don't have very much at all.

amen! Chanel nail polish is disgusting. i only own two or three shades that i regret buying because it chips too quickly and the colour fades badly.

opi and essie are much much better. OPI has some great blues too ;) don't waste your money on Chanel! FYI each bottle costs 99c to make...

How is Chanel Black Satin? I have some called jasmine I think from Chanel...it is beautiful and does not chip but I do not know about the satins...

i bought Blue Sprinkles when the Sweetie Cake collection came out - i knew it was not a practical nail color but i just fell in love with the whimsy of it. i love the varying sizes and colors of the glitter.

let me know how Blue Sprinkles works when layered, because strangely i haven't tried it that way.

thanks for the negative (honest) reviews about Blue Satin. If the quality is poor I'd rather spend my money on a similar cheaper color that doesn't chip so much or at least to know I didn't waste money if it does. Speaking of. I like Rimmel for trying fun colors cheaply. Their denim dreams for instance....

the color isn't similar but I still like it:

If you want something that looks like Blue Satin, I'd definitely try OPI's Yoga-ta Get This Blue! from their Indian collection. It's beautiful

I have it on now, and I love the silvery and copper glitter together. I'm not really a big MAC fan so I wasn't sure what collection it was in but a cosmetic outlet store I went to had a lot of pieces from the Sweetie Cake collection (minus Rose topping:p) incl. Blue Sprinkles.

Blue Sprinkles is pretty sheer if alone, so I tried it with a gunmetal gray color, Freja, under it and an opaque pinkish-white under it. Freja made it darker gunmetal gray with a blue-purple tinge, and the pale pink made it more opaque and lighter blue-purple.

Many hair salons and beauty stores carry OPI. However, if you live in small town, there's always eBay. In fact, sometimes you can find even better deals online than in actual stores.
