Nail Polish

American Apparel just launched a nail polish line. It's cheap and comes in a lot of great colors. You can buy it at AA's website.

anyone have any good tips for a product that helps dry nails quickly?

i have a BAD habit of doing my nails at night/right before bed

and then the polish never seems to fully set so it's got ridges in it from my pillowcase fabric when i wake up in the morning making it look dull and textued... ugly
so i usually end up putting on another coat of polish or topcoat to smooth it out as i'm getting ready in the morning and it's not ideal because i tend to be in a rush and somehow mess it up again

anyway, any good tips for drying? :p
Haha, we're the same! But I found a great solution-LCN Quick Dry Oil (it's also good for cuticles).:flower:

I always apply it just before I go to bed too  Old habits die hard! I've never used a quick dry oil before so thanks for the reccomendation Isa

You're welcome, dear! Just apply it few minutes after the last coat of nail polish and wait a bit. There is also a cheaper alternative from Essence Cosmetics (it costs around 2, 5€), it's called Express Dry Spray.;)

thanks for the quick dry tips ladies...
will have to head out and pick something up soon

i think my mom may have picked up a quick-dry topcoat from essie....
i've got to look into it... will report back :p

Can you tell me if you use this with a top coat? And do you know if it is big 3 free?
I have tried a few things from LCN and I think they offer high quality stuff.

This oil is big 3 free, but I'm not sure for other nail polishes, I think they contain formaldehyde resins. I absolutely love LCN, I have so many products-base coat, top coat (I have to get wet look too!), files, hand cream, nail polish corrector, nail cuticle softener etc. Not to mention nail polishes, they have great colours!
I'll buy these asap! Especially the second one is gorgeous.

I am wearing OPI's Gloves You So Much (Christmas 2009 Collection) and I have to say, it is an amazing, amazing shade! My bf actually noticed it, and he is generally very apathetic towards what I wear on my face & nails. He couldn't stop complimenting me and saying how "hot" and "fierce" the shade looked. :brows: I also met up with a friend who came back from the US today, and she barely even bothered to say hi at first sight because her eyes were hooked on my nail polish! She asked me what shade it was, and dragged me along to the OPI store so she could get one for herself. I love this shade with all my heart. It looks fantastic with the Essie Matte About You topcoat too!

(These pics honestly don't do it justice.)

Just discovered my new favorite polish: Essie Greenport. Very similar to Tiffany blue. Too bad it's almost impossible to find now...

Do you use the oil over a topcoat? Please tell me more about other LCN products you like , which ones are holy grails?

I think I need the second one, too, do you know a name or number?

I do have top coat (it's actually a nail hardener called Super Nail Harderner and I have another one with calcium as well), but I rarely use it. I'll go for Wet Look asap, I love glossy look.^_^ So I use oil after nail polish.
LCN files are my favourite (you have files for different types of nails), I can easily shape my nails now (I had huge problems with that and I was using nail scissors:ninja:). Like I said, oil is fantastic, I also like cuticle softener pen (and Nail Cuticle Softener-pretty much the same thing) it's for gently pushing your cuticles back.
I also have cuticle oil (mine is a bit dry because of that cold weather we have), but mainly because of delicious smell (I have vanilla-cinammon, but they also have chocolate, orange, caffee latte) and I use it before I go to bed. And of course nail polishes, they have so many shades and gorgeous colour. They're easy to apply and they last forever!:woot:
Those 3 colours above are (from left to right): 213 Cosmopolitan Me, D4 Funky Violet and 256 Victorian Violet.:flower:

Oh, and I'd recommend Nail Power for anyone who has soft, fragile nails. There are few things you should know about it's use, just tell me if anyone is interested. My bf's sisters had the baddest nails I have ever seen and after using Nail Power she has strong, healthy nails. She said I saved her life.

I just got the Deborah Lippmann "Marquee Moon" nail polish today. I only bought it because Marquee Moon is a song by my long-time fave band, but after putting it on, I am in love with it. The sequins makes it look so cool!

This shade from MAC's Give Me Liberty collection (launching March 11th) is beautiful. It's called Blue India, and I have to have it. Cute bottle too.
