Nail Polish

Essie's Aperitif (cherry red), A-List (classic red), Mademoiselle (pale sheer pink), and Sole Mate (deep dark plum)

I have a bunch of nail polishes by revlon... but i've found that when i take them off they usually leave my nails stained...

does this happen to anyone else?

i only really thought about this recently... light/pale pink leaves a yellowish stain, while a dark purply/maroon called "vixen" (which i just took off) leaves a reddish stain..

i had bought black nail polish by another brand (sally hansen i think) and there was absolutely no trace of the color when i took the polish off... so i guess that's what kind of made me wake up about the revlon polishes staining my nails..

so annoying.. i don't think i'll be buying any more revlon polish anytime soon... or ever :ermm:

ChrissyM, it happens to me too and it's not just a Revlon problem, I've been using Chanel Vamp (a blood-red colour) and whenever I remove the nail polish, my nails become slightly fuschia. It's annoying, but it's my fave nail polish colour...

^^ yeah it's so annoying because i actually like the colors...

i guess i'll just have to repaint them sooner than i intended..

Today I purchased Essie in Wicked and it's absolutely gorgeous. It's the fall color I've been looking for forever!

Have you been making sure to use your base coat? Also not to leave the polish on for longer than 7 days? I make sure i always follow this, and i never get staining, even with Revlon colours

^^no i really can't say i'm good about using a base coat...
i'm sure it would make a big difference

i hadn't even thought of that to be honest... especially because i don't experience the staining with some of the other brands i use..

i'll look into it though... thanks for the tip! :flower:

whenever i do my nails at home they take hours to dry and i end up getting an inprint of my bed sheets on my nails the next morning!!!!!!
does this happen to anyone else and does anyone know how to stop this from happening???

yes, it happens to me as well. when I go to sleep, I stick my hands palm down outside of my blanket. I have to force myself to sleep on my back

I have tried on and bought very few nailpolishes. But my number 1 favourite is the bubblegum/barbie pink Nail Enamel 140 from FACE Stockholm. Other favourites are the raspberry red Nail Enamel 133 also from FACE Stockholm and the green glittery Nightlife from Make Up Store.

Right now I'm wearing a pearl-white, translucent nail polish as a bottom layer and a clear one with silver glitter as a top layer (called Rock 'N Roll)

I always buy every color..but I aways wear light colors that really suits me..now I'm in love with the top coat for french manicure from KIKO, milky white but not chalky quite translucent

^^is wicked like a purple eggplant color? if so then it just might be the color i've been searching for (in vain) for months!

that's so bad :( ... it happens to me as well

Wicked is a dark red-nearly black color. It doesn't have a violet tone, if that's what you're looking for. ;)

^^shoot! i've got a couple of nail polishes in that sort of shade already..
which goes to show that i like it :p
but it's not the elusive one i've been searching for...

at least i didn't have my hopes up too high because i remember checking essie's web site a while back and they didn't seem to have what i was looking for..

oh well, the search will just have to continue until i find/someone manufactures that color...
i know revlon had an eggplant shade years ago...
crossing my fingers that it gets reintroduced :lucky:

Have you tried OPI Lincoln At Midnight? It has a purpley eggplant tone but it is a little bit shimmery. It's still gorgeous though. Lincoln Park After Dark is also fabulous, but the purple tons is less obvious, it's almost black!

I had wanted a matte eggplant but lincoln at midnight might have to tide me over...
i need to go out and find some..
