NAOMI'S PROTÉGÉ
NAOMI CAMPBELL has named the model she thinks will take on her catwalking crown. The 33-year-old supermodel met Nakiesha Robinson backstage at the Jasper Conran show during London Fashion Week when the 19-year-old fledgling supe plucked up courage to offer her long time idol a glass of passion fruit juice. "It was such a sweet thing to do," Naomi told the Daily Telegraph. "We got talking. I really admired her spirit and decided to take her under my wing. She's bright, she's beautiful, she's got great attitude, walks well and looks great in clothes. She's going to go far. She can be another Naomi for sure." Since winning a modelling competition at home in Jamaica, Robinson has been signed by Premier, Naomi's own agency, and spent Milan Fashion Week being chaperoned by the older model. Campbell even accompanied her to some castings for the Paris shows next week and is already on option for the likes of John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Emanuel Ungaro, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel and Givenchy. "I'm giving her advice, based on what I've learned," went on Naomi. "The main thing is to be focused and enjoy what you do. You have to make your own mistakes; everyone does. Nakiesha will be growing up in front of the whole fashion world, just as I did, and it's not always easy. But she's got her feet on the ground. She'll be fine."
