I would have been so nervous if I was that salesgirl. Imagine the wreck that is Naomi, coming into the store, with a credit card that probably has a huge limit. What if it wasn't Naomi and it was stolen? That is also a huge burden to deal with.

I am TOTALLY amazed to see how some of you are that inocent!

Do you really think most models look like the pics you see?!?!?!
And the arrogance of most people who probably never seen her in the flesh, to say that she´s like this or like that!

Well, i haven´t seen her in person, but she is NOT flawless, neither does her skin looks flawless! Besides, how old is she?! With her life most of us would look terrible too.

I saw a tv special on her several years ago, and as stunned to see how many small scars her face had without makeup (she had just washed her face, it was filmed in her hotel room).

Now that she´s older, had some lines, dryness, etc all of the things that come with aging skin!

About the girl that didn´t recognize her, i think that if she was having doubts she should have called the manager to see if she should or shouldn´t accept the card, or ask for some id.
But a black girl, with cat eyes, those lips, that tall and thin, isn´t that much common, even with lousy skin! lol

Well, get over it Naomi, people are just used to see you on on photohopped pics and with full on makeup!

You're speaking from the point of view of someone who is into fashion. As crazy as it may seem, a considerable part of the world's population is not intrested in fashion and wouldn't recognize a model even if she hit them in the head (joke intended).

however, shelf-life or not, Naomi has been working steadily for 20 years. she still gets major campaigns like Louis Vuitton and Iceberg, and has literally been on the covers of more magazines than ANY other black celebrity (yes, that includes Michael Jordan, Oprah, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, etc etc).

she is at the very least as famous as any other model who has ever existed. people all over the world, whether they care about fashion or not (unless they are very very young, perhaps), recognize the name Naomi Campbell. she is a legend who STILL works and is constantly involved in international events.

so to say that you see no reason why anyone outside of fashion would know her is simply incorrect. It is NOT a matter of opinion, it is a matter of fame and she is VERY famous the world over and that is pure fact.

I know that what you take into your body has a huge affect on it physically.
I know, because my sister was a heavy drug abuser, and drinker, smoker, etc, etc. Her skin was always dry and flakey, and had sores on her face, on her body. Now she has scars all over. Drugs have aged her to look older then she really is. She's only 31, but looks 45. With Naomi's past use of drugs, I'm not surprised on how she looks today.

Ask the guy who works in the nearest grocery store if he knows who Naomi is. Models are known and praised and adored in this little world called fashion. Outside of it most people don't know who they are or what they do for a living and if Naomi or any other model walked on the street with no makeup I can guarantee no one would believe they've made their fortune out of their looks. Just as an example, in Brazil your average John doesn't find Gisele Bundchen to be beautiful or even attractive. We try so hard to believe that what we know and what we think is the universal truth. We're 20,000 people in this forum and we represent only a tiny percentage of the real world, a real world where Gisele, Naomi, Cindy, Daria aren't divas.
