I was wondering why Vogue Russia is the edition of Vogue that features Naomi quite a bit and then I remembered that her SO is Russian (right?). I am not making an issue of it, but it had me scratching my head for a while.

Kate is featured just as much in Russian Vogue as Naomi with no ties at all to the Russian Culture... Vogue is a Fashion Bible and the Supermodels are the prophets so its only right they're always in the editorials and on the Covers... Now considering Naomi's recent invasion of the Russian Culture and Ties to Vlad may be the reason to the Issue being dedicated to her....

And the fact that the Russian's are craving all things Naomi.. I hear she's on the News daily and all over the tabloids.....I guess she's Selling Mags as well so thats why she have a whole issue dedicated to her...
She's so Mysterious and the fact that they're asking her personal questions and getting imagery from her thru the lens of world reknowned photographers is definetely a reason to swam the newstands to get this sepcial issue

I hear ya. I know that Russian Vogue favors supers, stylish celebs (e.g., Victoria Beckham) and top model homegirls (e.g., Natasha Poly). In reality, Black models making the covers of fashion magazines is uncommon, and sadly this applies to undisputed supermodel Naomi Campbell. The way I came across this information was that I was looking at a gallery of Naomi's covers and I noticed that a number of her recent Vogue covers were Russian Vogue (at least that was my deduction based on the lettering) as opposed to spread out across the various geographic editions.

Again I don't have a problem with it and if and when she and her current beau part ways she can hook up with guys across the Vogue diaspora... a German and after that a Greek and then an Australian and then a Spaniard followed by a Korean and so forth and so on. ;)

I think both of you have points and I think the bottom line is race sadly. And now that the magazines lean towards celebs first its a double strike for blackmodels. And yes it effects Naomi too...but just think if she still has to deal with some stuff the younger girls have even more. But I must say its better than when she started so she helps the cause but she is only one person!
**Furthermore Agee in the last 2 years she's had a pretty good range of Vogue covers...Italy,China,Korea and yes Russia! I too wish that the English speaking places of the world would be more open when it comes to who they put on the covers but they aren't! And Vogue UK should be ashamed! The positive in all this is that Russia was one of the very, very few if not the only place she didn't have a Vogue cover! Now she has 2...so she is worldwide now. There's nothing wrong with it. She's adding her name & face to more places & adding to her illustrious modeling career.
