Naomi Campbell to front The Face Australia
FOXTEL and Shine Australia have secured Naomi Campbell to host the Australian version of her model competition, The Face.
An Australian version of the reality format that sees three supermodels mentor young models will begin production later this year.
The models compete to become The Face of a major brand. Campbell, arguably the most controversial of the world’s supermodels, is a co-executive producer of The Face Australia.
She said in a statement: "I can't wait to see what talent Australia has to offer."
"The show is a real insight into the modelling world - it's authentic, fast-paced, and gives our aspiring models a taste of what it is really like. We're trying to find contestants who have the whole package - a beautiful face, great body, unique look, confidence, drive and passion, the ability to change and transform, a willingness to follow direction and, above all, a strong work ethic."
Applications are currently open to all females aged between 18 and 30 who are at least 172cm tall.
The host of The Face Australia and the remaining two model coaches will be announced in coming months. The Shine Australia series will air exclusively on Foxtel’s FOX8 in 2014.
The US series, which began on the Oxygen Network in the US in February, was hosted by photographer Nigel Barker and featured Campbell, Karolina Kurkova and Coco Rocha as judges and mentors.
Shine Australia also produces Masterchef Australia, The Voice, Australia’s Next Top Model and Ten’s coming series The Bachelor, among others.
