Here's How You Can Decorate Your Home with Naomi Campbell (For a Good Cause)!
By now, you’ve learned that Naomi Campbell is not one to simply give to a cause— rather, she takes action and dedicates not only her money, but also her time and effort into changing the world. While she has previously spearheaded a global campaign for Haiti relief, the supermodel is now turning her attention to the Philippines and those affected by this weekend’s destructive typhoon.
Lending her support to victims of this weekend’s natural disaster, Naomi has agreed to sell a new limited-edition print taken by photographer John-Paul Pietrus, who is not only a longtime collaborator of the supermodel’s, but also half-Filipino. The two will sell a series of the signed photo with the proceeds going to the Red Cross disaster fund.
“I chose this photo of Naomi as I think she is a very inspirational and beautiful figure, and she looks so peaceful here - something I would like the victims to find - a peace,” Pietrus told British Vogue. ” I was on the Red Cross website and thought that there must be something more that I can do than a personal donation, not only to raise money but to raise awareness. I immediately called Naomi to see what can be done and she suggested selling one of the images we’ve taken for charity. Naomi has always been passionate about helping those in crisis and I am grateful for her getting behind this initiative and coming up with a way of helping those effected by the typhoon.”
In 2005, Naomi established the charity Fashion for Relief, which worked to raise funds for communities overcoming natural disasters, including Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the Haiti earthquake in 2010. ”I am not a humanitarian leader, but someone who wishes to improve the world in which we live,” said the supermodel in an earlier interview.
