French-speakers/readers amongst you might find this new website interesting: www.buybuy.com. It's quite broad-based in terms of content but there is a substantial fashion and accessories-related focus. There'll be an English language version along in due course.

^merci Prosper...
who did this site (because the advertisers.... LV, Chanel, Dior... pretty good!) ? Is it online for a long time?
it's very luxury, though....
pretty masculin oriented, too, non?

Salut!

There is certainly a lot of «masculin» content in that there are sections devoted, for example, to automotive topics. But then, I know many women who are just as interested in cars, motorcycles, aeroplanes etcetera as men. Yet "women's magazines" do not offer them anything serious about such subjects. They have to steal their boyfriends' GQ or Maxim. I think the content has a universal appeal, reaching out to people regardless of gender or sexual orientation, and that is a good thing. There is a "luxury" aspect to www.buybuy.com in that it is generally product-driven but there is also a fashion element, which will grow in time with print and video interviews of 'people in fashion'.

The advertising is impressive and indicates that high-grade advertisers have responded to being offered a suitable place on the web for their advertising. Until now, advertising on the internet has been rather like having an advertising hoarding overlooking a shantytown or a junkyard. Buy Buy is independently funded and editorially independent. It is also Flash-based and everything you see on the screen has been laid out by graphists and art directors. It represents quite an evolution away from the HTML websites we are used to seeing.
