Nicolas Ghesquière - Designer, Creative Director of Louis Vuitton

Outfits like these reveal Ghesquière‘s inability to just create nice, streamlined tailoring - The proportions, the gimmick-y details, the fabric/color that feels cheap; celebrity dressing at LV does nothing to elevate the desirability of it‘s fashion line.

I dearly hope this is the last extension of his contract with Vuitton, he needs to move on and find a new approach in his creativity!

Her face says "A french man handle me this suit; and forced me to wear it..."

This video just made me realize that Nicholas is trolling and he needs to stop “challenging” bad taste at LV. His LV I just ugly and tacky

And if yall know I love these types of tacky women that buy runway and keep the machine going but Nicholas is better than this imo.

I'd actually f*ck with this dress if was actually made out of leather and metal instead to this cheap, sh*tty print.

The LV dress is hideous, but they would look equally tacky in The Row, Phobe Philo or his Balenciaga.
I would love to see the women who buy those limited, elaborate pieces from Vuitton runway shows.

I love that shade of green in the python bag 😅
They are both lovely but the LV print dress is atrocious.
With that lantern bag she looks like Tinker Bell in a LV children stage production of Peter Pan.

I share reese06 fascination, they look gentle and nice, and the one in black was on point.

It is surprising though that Vuitton has occupied that tacky territory that once was property of Versace.

hermes also has these type of clients prada as well etc etc people live rightfully so in their own world of taste or lack off :-)

but yes brands dont care as long as they sell more and more

I think I saw Brune Buonomano in that dress. I’m biais as I love everything that she wears and she wears a lot of Nicolas obviously…

Not my favorite dress but I don’t hate the print. I’m not sure it’s the best print for that shape.

Exactly.
One thing that years of attending Chanel shows teach me is that the chicest thing in the world such as a black Chanel suit can look tacky on the wrong person. And the other thing that being in fashion taught me was that the tackiest thing can look wonderful on the right person.
Someone like Farida Khelfa can do no wrongs in my eyes for example.

Marjorie Harvey wore a dress she bought at Pharrell’s menswear show. It’s one of the evening dress from the same collection as the trunk dress.

The trunk dress was produced worldwide. It wasn’t a boutique exclusive.
In reality, a lot of luxury clients, as brands gets bigger at tacky.

Those women are the same who buys Haute Joaillerie. And sorry but to me, Haute Joaillerie rarely looks good with High High fashion….Unless you buy from Hermes or brands like Repossi.

It’s like Rick Owens, the bigger the brand has become, the tackier their clientele gets. Balenciaga by NG was very exclusive. Even the cut of his clothes kind of limited the kind of clientele. The only thing that probably saved the perception around his work was that as his popularity and the brand grew, his collections became « less accessible ».

hermes also has these type of clients

I have the feeling that the "black" sister is more into Hermès and the "print" sister has little clue.
So the black went: "oh, that dress would look perfect on you, you can totally pull off that avantgarde shape" 🤭
But for herself, she chose to go full black no logo, with a dash of a wonderful scarabée green and all her Hermès jewells.🤣
With the contempt that Hermès customers have for LV (if you live in Paris you know what I mean).

Disclaimer: all this is for entertainment purposes, not rooted in truth or facts, just my imagination 🤭

You cannot be a $10B+ brand without also catering to a more flashy or “tacky” clientele. I remember a recent BOF podcast about the Real Housewives franchises, which were first shunned by top-end fashion brands—and now they don’t mind being part of it.

Even Hermès—perhaps especially Hermès—is a case in point. Michael Coste posts photos of himself with “Real Housewives” stars almost every other day it seems

hermes and Michael coste receives any one that has any sort of notoriety or local fame in the know 1%of the one 1% or more pop culture personalities (after the Opraha thing years ago they learned)

also its at store level so its client relationship that they highlight its an indirect way of showing everyone can be part of the hermes world and offset the hermes bag game ...

even the very discreet hermes rtw ambassadors are bit off the radar of mainstream public and its more about how they personify the hermes modern women than how well known or style influencers they are ..i don't mean the influencer that get to borrow hermes for the fashion show.

these ambassadors wear hermes rtw at work events or inner circle events that get some ig coverage but the purpose is to influence the women at the event not so much social media because often no #tags are used

Picture the SA explaining that this bag is one of only three ever made and that its design was inspired by the street lamps along the Champs-Élysée :meow:
Have you guys ever noticed how sometimes SA’s in those stores literally make stuff up on the spot about sh*t like that lol. Like one time I was looking at a Margiela bag that clearly had a direction field print on it which I am assuming had to do with creating a 2-dimensional visual of some kind of motion because the collection had to do with tango, and the SA was like that’s our x-year anniversary bag with a confetti motif. And I was just like oh ok 👍🏻
